Has anyone mad such a dumb mistake and over filled !
yes "over filled" there Tamora ? should I be worried,
I mean better tooo much then tooo little I guess.

It's not pissing out when i drive but i does exceed the
MAX mark on the dipstick, dealer advised that usage
would be around 1 litre per 500 miles ! and keep an eye
on it. Level was in the middle of min/max and a 1 litre
top up filled way over max...

Gary, that will not be a problem at all, at least for the engine; because it's a 'dry sump' engined car, nothing bad will happen in the engine if and when we overfill the oil tank, all it does it lead to 'wastage'
I also panicked and wrote the same as you when I first did it!, ended up spending half an hour sucking the excess oil out using a turkey baister – with hindsight, a complete waste of time!

Bottom line is, there is no need to worry, you just shouldn't have to fill it up again for a while, as the engine only takes the oil it needs

Checked mine when I got back this evening - still well over the max mark on the dipstick after plenty of miles since the last service. Don't worry about it. Obviously don't fill the oil tank to the brim though either :-)

1 litre per 500 miles!? That sounds like alot to me. I'm on my second Speed Six and the oil level has never dropped in either. I don't do track days so maybe that's why my TVRs haven't experience a thirst for oil.

I would expect to see a little oil use after running-in is complete, but more like 250 ml per 500-750 miles. 500 miles per litre sound excessive.
