Lower oil pressure reading than nornal.

I took the Tamora out for a run Saturday and noticed that the oil psi reading was lower than normal. It has normally been between 40-46 psi but was indicating 28-30 psi and did not go any higher than 30 psi :-(. I decided to turn back for home immediately. The engine appeared to be running OK, and there were no other problems. Is this my paranoya or is this an indication of impending problems.

The Tamora is due for its service next week, so I may not drive it again until I take it to the garage for its service, then they can check the engine. I did recently have a new oil pressure sender unit fitted, as the old unit leaked. Could this be going faulty one wonders ?
