Just after I got my T350T last month I noticed that on a couple of occasions the speedo just stopped and the needle fell to zero. Now the needle has never been all that stable but this problem usually resolved itself in a few minutes and all was well again.

Yesterday however I returned home from Birmingham and the speedo needle, over the entire journey, had a wild and erratic mind of its own which seemed to have no relation to the speed of the car (tricky with the speed cameras in the roadworks!) It swung wildly between 0 and 80 while the car was travelling at a steady 65ish. Also the digital readout had no relation to the needle at one point registering 0-249mph in 1 sec (now that's performance!)

I have got in the car today hoping that it would have again mended itself nut no, it has been exactly the same, even briefly registering 36mph while standing at the traffic lights. Unfortunately the miles are still being added to the mileage readout. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there something I can do? or is it a trip back to the dealer?

Cheers - Rippers

Speed sensor is buggered.

Time for a trip to the dealer.

It's scary the speed that the miles pile on when you are doing 226mph sat at the lights!

this is very common to T350's and Tamoras but so far I've not experienced it with my Sagaris which has a much steadier speedo needle altogether. I suggest fitting the Sagaris sender for a more permanent fix if this is possible.

Then again... your miles won't rack up on the odometer, and surely it's a good defence against a speeding fine? So there are benefits to a dodgy speedo....

Had the same issue with the Sagaris - replacement relatively quick/easy, speak to your dealer/service centre.

Exactly the same thing happened to my speedo this morning - 238 MPH while heading towards a tight left hander!

Glad that it sounds like a fairly straight forward fix, although a tad bothered about the mileage thing (limited mileage insurance policy). Booked into the dealers next week so hopefully not too many phantom miles being added in the mean time.

Could be just the gap setting.Thought my sensor was shagged, Factory set the gap at 50 thou , but service agent adjusted it to 49 thou after intermittent problems- been perfect ever since- failing that change the sender.

Doesn't sound right.

To adjust it that finely, to a 1 thou tolerance, you'd need a vernier mount, rather than a ziptie, or whatever they use. Sounds like it was adjusted wrong and has been put right.

I tried various gaps settings and it still never worked properly until a new sensor went on.

I currently have a mismatch of about 1000rpm between digital and analogue readouts. Digital seems to be correct - analogue is showing below 0 when ticking over!

Well Andy the madbadger the speedo has worked perfect ever since. In for other bits today ( not faults) and if it doesnt sound right then it may need re-phrasing 49 thou is its present setting right or wrong and it works.

Had the same prob on my Tamora, i was doing 221mph no matter how fast i was going even when at lights. The miles we clocking up at about 3000mph so make sure you get it fixed asap. You might want to get into the boot lift up the carpet above the petrol tank and pull apart the connector as this will stop the miles racking up then get her to the shop for a new speedo sensor

I'm sure the 49 thou is right now, but if you were told "it was on 50 thou and we've adjusted it to 49 thou" then that sounds a bit dodgy to me.

I suspect it was way off and they have adjusted it to where it should be.
