Hi All

Am hoping one of you may be able to come to my assistance. I have a couple of problems...

1. I have a non-standard Richbrook gear knob. How do I remove this? At the base of the knob there is a screw on cap which I have unscrewed to reveal 3 star bolts which I have removed. The knob should, I assume, either now unscrew or pull off? Can someone guide me here, I'm trying to unscrew with no success.

2. Ok, so the main reason I need to remove the knob is so that I can remove the gaitor. My other question relates to how I refit the gaitor - ie, how do I get the transmission tunnel off etc on a T350. Is it just the two screws either side?

To explain why I'm doing this...I've bought a new "original" TVR gear knob ro replace the Richbrook one and I'm also getting a new gaitor made!

Cheers
Mark

Mark,

The gaitor is glued to the underside of the trim / panel that fits over the transmition tunnel. To remove undo the 2 screws either side of the trim / panel. Remove ash tray, reach inside hole where ash try fits and undo wing nut. Then slide panel backwards and it should lift out. On my Tam the wing nut and bolt had been cut off so this part wasn't req.

Cheers, that makes sense, I was wondering whi it still didn't budge when I unscrewed the self tappers either side of the tunnel. Now all I need to do is get the bloody gear knob off...I think I shall have to resort to a pair of grips in the morning!

I've ordered a new original TVR gear knob, do these normally come with a collar etc?

Cheers

There is a clip at the back, which is why it needs to be slid backwards.

When i bought my new gear knob, it didn't come with a collar?
