Is is safe to use Super Unleaded petrol in the Tamora. I use unleaded 95 but may be experiencing pinking. I'm not sure about using super unleaded as the manual says use super unleaded for track days, and I don't track day my Tamora.

I would like to give super unleaded a try to see if the pinking goes - but are not sure about it

If its anything like most TVRs it will be 'happier' running on Super or Opti.

Yep, defo try to run it on super in warmer weather, esp. if you're 'using the revs' and not just motorway cruising.

My Tamora Red Rose runs excellent on anything that is 95+. No discernable difference apart from slightly better mileage with higher octanes.

The handbook for my T350 says unleaded or super-unleaded. I once put a half tank of standard 95 ron (no choice, was almost out of fuel)in and very shortly after noticed it running unevenly and starting to pink. Now as a minimum I go with super-unleaded and wherever possible Optimax.

Cheers Lads, I'm converted. I'll run it on super unleaded or optimax from now on.

Hopefully this might get rid of the ticking/tapping noise

Well I put Super unleaded in the Tamora, and what a difference. No pinking anymore and thus no tapping noise. The TVR runs much better aswell

Why was I so stupid running the TVR on unleaded 95

sideways mostly

You weren't stupid-the manual reccomends 95

Ummmmmm

I'm staying off Optimax because I've heard that it actually looses its detergent after a couple of days.

Have you tried BP Ultimate Unleaded.
