Hello,

does anyone know if the ECU and door controller should fix firmly in the drivers foot well.

My LCD screen went blank yesterday and after some investigation I found the ECU and door controller were just flapping around behind a thin piece of black plastic. I pulled it all out and secured all the connections and the LCD came back on.

When trying to place the ECU and door controller back, there appeared to be no real place or fixing for it to sit in. It is a difficult angle so I may have missed something.

Has anyone else experienced this or know how it should fit?

thanks

Mine seems fairly loose too, can't see any rigid fixing but it's difficult to see without getting on hands and knees and it is throwing it down with rain so can't do that.

Is yours OK now ? Did the throttle potentiometers fix the rough running/stalling ?

My ECU is fixed to the bulkhead just out of reach of mere mortals on the bulkhead. The door ECUs are stuffed down the side of the pedal box area though. Not the tidiest, looks like TVR tried to stick them in place with velcro - badly.

My ECU is against the RH side of the footwell, had to move some cable etc but is now secure

Door and window controllers tie wrapped higher up near the steering column near the ledge that is there

Hope you are agile!

Yeah seems ok now the dealer tried the ECU and a number of other things but it turns out it was the throttle potentiometers.

Thanks for all comments its good to know mine isn't missing a particular fixing for the ECU. I will spend some time at the weekend to try and secure it better, there was also vibration noise from that area so it is more than likely that the ECU and door controller were rattling around bit..

On the up side last weekend was the first weekend I have had to enjoy the car and I have to say it was bloody brilliant... I kind of know this car is gonna hurt the pocket but what a buzz when driving it. I cleaned it Sunday and couldn't help looking at it from different angles they do look the bollox...
