What a brilliant weekend for driving. I’ve already covered 1000 miles in 12 days.
After the initial shock of gadget free driving and raw power, I have fallen deeply in love, even more so than my first prep school girlfriend.

So far I have encountered a few minor niggles which after a week or so I finally managed to get sorted. Unfortunately, a new problem surfaced on Sunday. Managed to find the rattles, turned out there were a couple, one being the back window as predicted, number 2 being the bolt holding on the exhaust had dropped out resulting in the pipes vibrating on the under-tray, new bolt sorted that one.

The new problem to arise is what I can only assume to be the air-con fan (the big grey box nearest the passenger seat under the bonnet far back left of the engine bay) has started to wine.. when I apply weight to the top it stops. Was going to open it up but noticed the rubber seals in the middle and don’t want to go breaking those. It’s not a major concern as I don’t really use it, but I want it sorted regardless so time call in the warranty me’s thinks unless someone has any easy fix solution for me?

Other than that, what can I say about the car: Brilliant!!! I can’t get enough, I hate coming to work more than ever and as home time approaches I get butterflies in my stomach like a kid a Christmas.

This made me giggle, got home to my London flat late last night only to be greeted by some ugly angry yank holding a ‘petition’ in my face signed by her and a further 8 neighbors from my apartment block who had all ganged up and decided my car was far too loud and that effectively I had one of the three following options:

A: Sell it due to excessive noise pollution.
B: Take it to a garage and make it quieter.
C: Move out to pastures new, preferably somewhere I wouldn’t scare the neighbors.

I’m a very reasonable chap but can you imagine my response to this at 12.30 last night when some yank calmly tells me I have to choose from the above.
The words that followed seemed to just come naturally – “Are you taking the p1ss, Im not selling it, no I’m not moving out and you have to be joking if you think I’m going to make it quieter so you may as well get used to it”. She then said if I didn’t (get this) “comply” (LMFAO) she would be forced to take it up with the council and front a “neighborhood campaign” against the noise my car makes and proceed have to have it towed away. Brilliant, only yanks can make such a fuss.

Ownership is an exhilarating experience… from the kid’s that think your batman to the giggles I get from the jealous neighbors.
And yes, let’s not forget the bit it’s all about….. driving the dam thing…. Roll on home-time.

What an absolute c she sounds.

Why not organise a petition of your own, to ask her to mind her own business. Bloody interfering old cow.

Anyone else fancy a meet round at his place this Sunday

No its not just yanks, I have got the same problem with a neighbor who lives across the road from me. If its not my aggressive driving it will be the noise next. I can't see how I can drive aggressively considering I live in a cul-de-sac.
History - I swore at his son for tresspassing and being a nuisance on my property, which I know was wrong, but it was heat of the moment. He has now taken retribution against me by complaining about my TVR. He is jealous - simple as that. I'm expecting the same treatment from him as you are getting, but my immediate neighbors and other people in the neighborhood think the TVR is great!!!!!!

It is very tempting to wind this prat up, but all I want to do is mind my own business and enjoy my TVR. I would be keen to find out what he does, since the same thing could happen to me.

My absolute sympathy is with you, and my answer is SOD THEM and get a TVR power exhaust modification

That's the thing - When I took the car back to the garage to have the squeaks and rattles checked they confirmed that is was defiantly a serious sports exhaust.... they didn’t recognise it but said it sounded really good.

Nothing wrong with 996's mate, X Porsche owner myself. Besides, Porkers and Tivs combined we'd make one hell of orchestra.

Tell her to come and rent a flat at my place for a week, where she can enjoy the sounds of our local orchestra comprising a T350t with TVRPower Super Sport, my newly returned Alpine GTA with straight thru' pipes about three foot in length with absolutely no boxes at all, a neighbour with the loudest Harley I've ever heard and another neighbours maxpower son who seems to have removed his exhaust entirely.

BTW ask the yank if she has a work permit etc..

There’s only one thing for it, get a sports exhaust fitted – silly cow will then have something to complain about.
