My Tamora overheated on Saturday in traffic and steam poured out of the bonnet just as i entered my drive (how lucky was that!). On inspection neither fan was operating despite a water temperature of 120degC. I checked the fuse but it was fine so thought i would have a search on here. I came up with the idea of a dodgy temp sender so started taking the airbox apart. When i couldn't get it off i did another search on here which pointed to a hidden catch. I cleaned the contacts on the correct temp sender and the fans now operate again...many thanks to all that contribute to this site. Mark

Excellent!
I'm paranoid about the fans not coming on even thought it's never happened yet.
So was there any permanent damage?

Now you've got the lad worried!!!!

How do you know if any damage has been done (HP doesn't mention any strange engine noise)?

As far as i know there isn't!! The oil temp got up to 98degC and the water 120degC so i think things should be ok. It must have only been for a minute or two max as i was in traffic at the end of my road.
