The problems of owned a Tamora and living in central London are summed up by looking at my frontend spoiler and rear left alloy (well that one might have something to do with my reverse parking!. Anyway high pavements and massive speedbumps have taken there toll and i was wondering if any of you had some DIY advise on how to patch up a few scuffs on the alloys and a few little chunks out of the front spoiler, i guess some kind of filler and a pot of black paint will do the job.

I posted something similar with regards to keeping the front bib
in A1 condition, I recon like a rubberised paint or something
like that cos it just aint worth paying for repair all the
time.

I'm central London too.

If your Tam is a few years old, as a future preventative measure (once you have fixed the existing damage), you may want to consider having the geometry and ride hight set to the latest spec. It results in a higher ride hight.

My car in Sept 03 and I have just had the work done - you gain about 10-12mm ride hight, and get better handling as well! Visually you can hardly tell the difference, but I find the 10mm (or so) makes a big difference to the amount of time the bumper is scraped. Won't help with high curves though.

By the way how much did it cost you to raise the ride height?

I think it was abut £150 (before VAT), including a 4 wheel alignment. I think that I may have got a good rate on this though, so speak to your dealer.

Ask for the geometry to be adjusted to the latest spec. With this you get the current factory settings - the primary benefit is handling, the secondary benefit is the ride hight. So its not simple 'raise it by 10mm request'.

I needed the work done as I could not even get the car into my own garage at the old ride hight!
