Hi guys.

I have had my Tuscan 3.6 for about 15 months now and ever since i bought it (its a 2002) it made a VERY slight squeaking/ rattling noise at exactly 1800 rpm when DECELERATING ONLY. It used to do it for literally a split second, it was hardly noticable. I thought, ok this is a peculiarity of my engine, probably a timing chain rattle or something.

However, the last few times i have driven it, this noise seems to be kicking in anywhere between idle and 1800rpm. It varies in intensity and only happens at these low rpm, still mainly when decelerating. I am no engine expert, but i was guessing it could not be too serious since it only happens at these low rpms. Loose timing chain perhaps? If it was finger followers, valves etc then surely it would be worse at higher rpm not low.

I am going to take it to be looked at sometime soon (very busy at work at the moment!) but i thought id ask you guys what you thought cos often it seems like some of you know more than the dealers about these things!!

Oh yea i posted here cos its the 3.6 engine I have.

Thanks in advance,
David
