6400 miles since April 7
Discussion
Just a meaningless post, but when I dropped the Tam off for it's 6k service today, there seemed to be a bit of surprise that I'd put that many miles on in such a short time.
So who else out there uses their P&J as much as me? Or should I be cotton-wooling it in the garage a bit more?

Not a meaningless post at all! It's great to read that there are others out there who actually drive the cars as they would any other 'normal' car. I have treated mine in such a way, and I believe it's all the better for it - plus I am way past worrying about what ifs and buts!
There is a caravan club on the site I work on, and it's great seeing all the caravanners stare when I pull in, making sure I spin the wheels on the loose gravel1
One of them came over well over a year ago, saying the same old dirge; "TVRs, nice, but I know a mate who had nothing but......" He's back today, and I put him straight about my perticular TVR's reliability, hopefully, he's gone away with a more positive view........ (never know!)

3000 miles in the last 5 weeks in the Sagaris.
Is this because you're tavelling the length and breadth of the UK, supplying hard to find TVR parts to hapless TVR owners?

No he is a professional dogger and kerb krawler

Hehe, not quite
Only 650 ish miles of those were supplying parts. 2 more trips to B'ham and Blackpool for family and a 915 miles 2 day jaunt upto Berwick and the Borders for some tv work and future home/business research. Besides kerb crawling in a Sagaris is ill advised for 2 reasons:
1) the alloys get kerbed very easily
2) you can just imagine getting nicked cos the tart took so long in figuring out how to open the door the old bill come along!
Mileage works out at about 400/500 a week. Recently had the 42k service and the engine runs brilliantly. I'd say all the TVRs I've had have run better after 20k, the T350 feels noticeably better since 30k. For those that don't drive their TVRs all that much they probably will never find out how good they can feel, especially anyone concerned with the poor resale value of a higher mileage car. Given my experience (and the amount of gripes many people have with their, often low mileage, cars) I'd rather by a year old car with 20k on the clock that 3k. Irrespective of price.
Though of course I might say that given that by the time I want to sell my cars they've always got at least 50k under their belts.

, And like you, driving the TVR on a virtual day to day basis has in no way 'numbed' any part of the TVR experience, we just get to enjoy it a lot more!!

YUP, solutely Chris- I have been Tiving daily for over two years now and its still a thrill every morning just looking at the beatie let alone firing it up. I bet God drives a TVR.
Bought the car with 3000 on it in November and now just hit 7000, and can say that the last 1000 have been the best 6000 service has brought about a free revving engine with absolutely no oil usage. Last 1000 miles completed in a week. I am definately going to use the car more!
Shame about the sag Richard just stick to driving them yourself in the future should have reached 24,000 by next week
