Hi all

Having decided to now keep the T350 I find my thoughts once again returning to the possibility of purchasing a cheap (and I mean cheap, purchase price, running costs, insurance etc.) second car.

What I'm after is a car that I can use when the weather gets really filthy, something to cross the Pennines with on a cold snowy January morning, a car that I would quite happily leave at the local railway station when I'm away for a few days, or indeed in a darkened pub car park overnight so I only need get a taxi home.

As I also occasionally travel on journeys of 250 - 300 miles during the winter months ideally the car should not be too basic.

I'm sure that many other TVR owners at this forum have a second car for similar occasions and wondered if anyone could recommend a model for me, also how much I would expecr to pay for such a prestigious vehicle.

Many thanks

Cheers - Rippers

We had (until the GF decided she wanted a more sporty car) a Clio 1.2MTV, it was good and not bad to drive. It would not set the world alight but it could get you from A-B.

Crossing the wilds of the Penines in the winter. Hmm. I'd want something with a bit of safety too. How about something like an old Audi 80/90 Quattro. Or even a bigger one:
