This has probably been covered before - but can't find it on the search.

Looking to change my oil this weekend and was just wondered if someone could let me know what oil filter these cars use, and how many barrels of Mobile one I need to get from Halfords!!

Thanks

I suggest getting a filter from a TVR dealer/specialist. Can't cost much more than an autoparts place.

Oil quantity = lots. 7-8 litres as a guess. Look on an old service receipt for quantity you paid for last time.

Mine took about 7l to fill her back up again. Two 4l barrels should do the trick.

I was told that you need to be careful to drain not just the dry sump tank but also suck the old oil from the shallow engine sump. I have not done the job myself yet so the above is based on what I have been told not what I have done but apparently the oil will not all readily drain out on its own.

I was told that you need another couple of litres if you manage to scavenge all the old oil out. Doing the latter is what takes the time and the difference between a good and a quick job.
