Just picked up my Tamora a week ago, 2Years old, first TVR.
Can anyone explain what an EFI fault error code 4 is?

Thanks

No, but lots of people get it, usually on startup. It clears and doesn't come back until next restart for most people. A software update fixed it on mine.

it flashed up on my car when i had the airbox off for getting in at the fan switch , think it was due to the air sensor being disconnected, but sorted itself

When I picked up my Tamora from the factory three and a bit years ago, Heath told me that the only fault code where you should stop immediately is EFI code 4.

That said, you can occasionally get this fault code on startup (as has been said), but it almost always clears itself immediately. The only other time you are likely to have the fault code come on and stay on, but without a real fault, is if you are driving at altitude. I had this fault approaching the summit of the Sustenpass in Switzerland (more than 7,000 feet), but the code appears because of the low air pressure - it disappears when you come down the other side.

I assume that if it comes on and stays on at any other time, stop.

I had this EFI warning last week. It seems to be associated with the oil pressure sender unit. The wire going to my sender unit was loose, therefore the computer was flashing an Oil P Sensor, 0psi oil pressure reading, and the EFI Fault. When the wire was repaired the EFI Fault went away aswell as the Oil P Sensor warning. Never had this EFI fault other than this incident.

This code has flicked on and off on my car for 2 years! Usually happens on hard acceleration, or accelerating in 5th from lowish revs, and sometimes in very wet conditions it goes bonkers and comes on with every movement of the accelerator pedal. It's been checked several times by a main dealer and no fault found - but the electrical relay to the fuel pump burned out last year, and I'm not sure if that was the problem. Perhaps I should get the software upgrade and see, although my car is currently having a decat and therefore new TVR Power chip, so maybe that'll cure it.

Isn't 2 years old a bit young to be driving, especially a TVR

Thanks for all replies, think I,ll get it checked out.
It does only come on when starting, but clears using the two buttons,
It's never actually cleared by itself!!

Thanks
