Is it me or are there some fairly idiot loonies on this site

Posting on here cos I cant be arsed with a massive argument in the more general areas. Is it just me then or does anybody else think there are some complete right (and left) wing absolute loonies around? Im appalled by some of the language and sentiments on the Bomber Command thread over in the P&P, a complete lack of understanding or appreciation. I think most of the old boys we say every month when they meet up at work would be horrified if they read some of that stuff and mortally offended.

Christ, Im naturally inclined to right of centre, but some of that being spouted, is well over there ----------->

I haven't exactly been around long on pistonheads gassing but have had many years posting and reading on the lotus BBS forum and I'm afraid its much the same story if not even worse over there.. comments I have seen beggars belief, so much so in fact that I decided not to use the forum anymore.

The Audi S2 forum is a pretty friendly lot, there just a seriously geeky but nice bunch that are just obsessed by knowledge... there's nothing they don't know and considering how technical the Audi S / RS range is that's pretty impressive I'd say. What's more impressive is that they all seem to get on and any trolls are quickly dispatched.

A few years ago, I remember the Lotus BBS becoming so bad that other forums would be posting links to some of the threads as it was just beyond belief. They have serious in house wanabe know it all argumentative idiots like LiamG who spend there entire time talking cr@p and starting arguments for arguments sake, if not that then trying to belittle other lesser know guests or forum members for there own shallow gratification. There's also some complete lunatic called Ryan Williams who seriously needs to be sectioned.

Internet being what it is, a medium for any monkey to have there penny's worth comes with both advantages and disadvantages.. I just try to turn a blind eye to morons.

Rant over.

On a positive note, I'm driving to Italy in few hours

True the biggoted numpties I have found tend to be largely in P&P and not on the specific forums fortunately.

I don't spend a lot of time on Forums but now and then look at the ones covering my cars and other cars that I'm interested in. I think the majority of contribtors are great but a few, who hide behind the anonymity of this kind of Forum, just like to show how stupid they can really be. I sometimes doubt that these idiots even have the cars that they claim to have! At least PH Gassing Station is generally good and the rest of us will just have to ignore the loonies.

There is sooo much dross on P & P...that's why it was seperated from General Gassing.

I rarely look at it and it's not on my favourites list.

However, in it's defence I did pop in a few weeks ago when I needed some advice re my trip to Japan and folks were extremely helpful and replied pdq for which I was grateful.

Best thing is DJC...if it upsets you...don't go there mate.

Being also a fan of football I used to post on football forums,but that is also full of people who just seem to get a rise from annoying others,
most threads start off o.k with a serious request then end up being hijacked by what must be the most insecure bunch of people you could meet!
prehaps phsycological profiling should be used when becoming a member,just a few carefully selected questions would suffice.
