Do you have the 'wear and tear' option on your warranty? It's something you need to pay extra for on a used TVR, even when buying from a franchised dealer

Did you buy the car from new? If so this makes it a bit easier but still...

If this is that case, the thing to do is ask the dealer or failing that TVR themselves for confirmation that 18,000 is a fair amount for these parts to 'wear'.

Of course the probable reason for these problems is premature mechanical failure, and the warranty should pay out as such although if you dont push the issue they will get away with it.

It is technically possible to put every problem down to 'wear and tear' and thus the company would get out of paying any claim unless you have zero miles on the clock and kept your car in a vacuum chamber which offers a ridiculous situation.

I would strongly press the issue.

That’s rubbish.

A warranty covers material and design defects. It sounds like the bearing has failed and caused other damage, thus a material failure of the bearing. If it was fair wear and tare then they expect the bearing to fail after such a short time?

Being in warranty for a living I have never understood why people didn’t push the warranty question for their rebuilds further.
