Hi all,

She's been defaced in the work's car park:

She was reversed into, breaking the nearside headlamp cover and cracking the GRP in places. He was kind enough to leave contact details - so top marks to him.

I'll still need to drive her but my concern is the weather and rain ingress.

Do I need to do anything or will she be OK exposed?

TIA,

Paul

Forgot to ask: Anyone recommend a TVR bodyshop in the Birmingham area?

Paul

At least she(he) left there number, try option 1 in Redditch. Chris Watton had his front end resprayed by them and they are now an official TVR bodtshop.

Obviously need to go for a bright colour next time! rolleyes

The light units are proprietary types designed to sit in the weather normally, so should be fine.

I was thinking of getting her resprayed in Dayglow Orange with Reflexite Lime stripes:

I shouldn't worry about the weather. The light units should be bonded in place themselves. The bodyshop will need to clean the whole area up anyway.

Thanks all.

The indicator unit is a bit loose but they all work.

I'll give Option 1 a call in the morning.

Privilege were really good.

Once I mentioned GRP they were happy for me to get a quote of my choice. They are sorting out a hire car for the repair period also.

Now, about that dayglow orange.....

There's also Central TVR in Stourbridge (used to be Team Central in Perry Bar) that TVR Power uses for its bodywork....

I used them last year for the front end respray to get rid of the stone chips.

Let's just say I wont be going back.

Got a quote from Option 1. I'm now waiting for the insurance engineer to look over the car.

Yup, full marks to the guy. Not many would do the same nowadays.

Fairclp,

Had exactly the same damage on mine.

Dulford Autos quoted me half the cost of anywhere else.

And they did a first class job, incl respray.

Bye bye E Class Merc hire-car hello TVR T350!

Paint job looks nice, but too dark to see!

Although, she threw a blank display fit when off-loading from the transporter. Cleared once restarted. Obviously giving me a warning about being sent away.

Glad she's back!

Happy end to the story, glad to hear it.
