Just coming home after a steady drive out and all of a sudden turning a left hand bend the steering goes really heavy. I pulled over turned the car off and back on again and there is no wine from the power steering pump.
Is it something as simple as a fuse(hope so) if so where is the fuse situated.

i didnt remove the wheel, just jacked it up to give a bit more room and put the steering on full lock, then remove the panel with a small screwdriver to reveal the battery, you will see the power cable with the small black fuseholder, open, screw new one in and away you go, simple as...

happy to help

If by any chance it's not the fuse, the relay is worth checking - it's the grey one by front of engine, sitting above steering rack on nearside.

Take the relay out and see if its got markings on it. Then take it to an auto electrical specialist and they may be able to match it.

What amperage is the in-line fuse for the PAS? I think someone mentioned 80A? I know the other Alternator to battery fuse is 100A...

The in line fuse is 80A for the PAS. I tried to get it matched at a auto elecrtical place but with no luck but I have managed to find on at Drivestyle so it should be here on Tuesday

Is it possible to test the voltage at the pump itself by removing a cover etc ?

Its all fix nuts

On little fuse cured my power steering and my heater flap problem all in one.
Mybe worth remembering that the power steering relay gets its ignition live from a 20 amp heater fuse that is situated in the footwell underneath the steering wheel.

Congrats.

It's really annoying that fuses are shared. Like the break and reverse fuse. If the reverse switch fails and blows fuse - no break lights either!
