Hi,

Got a strange electrical problem and wondered if anyone had seen anything similar.
Several hours after washing the car I had...
1. The alarm randomly triggers
2. Rear window is unlocked
3. Opening doors also opens rear window
4. lcd display/dashboard powers up (no keys in the ignition!)

It's all dried out now and working ok.
Any ideas ? I'd like to find something before I wash it again!

Thanks

I would imagine that it is something caused by water ingress. I had a slightly different issue, in that, I could not open the hatch on my T350. Atfer washing the car, the hatch could be opened normally. I just put it down to one of the idiosyncrasies of TVR ownership.
IMHO just give it time to dry out and be careful when washing it, to avoid getting water somewhere critical.
Hope that it's nothing serious and that you get it sorted.

At the moment it's at the dealers.
It took approx 1.5 days to dry out and work properly. During that time I had to remove the alarm and dashboard fuses so the car was useless during that time.
Waiting to see what the dealer can find, at least its still got warranty cover but it's a pain being without it as it's my main car.

I think you may be a bit over zealous with your hose pipe around the
bulk head area passenger side..

I think this is probably water getting into/onto the fuse box area. If you have a tiny leak at the bottom end of the driver's side of the windscreen or the bulkhead.

This could be the cause of my fan not working anymore. It stopped working when I was driving through a rain storm last friday. I notice that there is condensation at the bottom end of the driver's side of the windscreen.

Thats more likely to be water in the connectors down the nearside of the engine bay - relays and stuff down there too I think.
