Into 6 weeks of ownership of my first TVR T350C and loving it!!

Last week received Ferodo DS2500 brake pads and a set of Nitrons which have just been fitted. Brakes feel better and car if much more stable at speed and under heavy braking with the Nitrons. You can feel the car tyres bitting better aroung the corners, realy worth the money, both these upgrades highly recomended.

Although, my teeth have had a bit of shaking due to the very bumpy roads around my home town, the Nitron give a very firm ride, just need to back of damping a little.

Looking through the other thread on exhausts, well my 350 has Racing Green silencers, very loud but great noise, pops and crackles on the over run, great! But since taking ownership of my 350, my tempermental neighbour has not been talking to us.(which she has done many times before).

Anyway i was washing my car about 10.30 this morning, then started it up, to warm her up before going to work. (I normally warm up to 30% before moving of) my neighbour came through her side gate slammed the door and said in a frustrated loud voice "Paul do you have to keep that car running for so long as it vibrates the drive and shakes my house"!!I tried a little to explain i need to warm it up well but she turned around back into her house slamming the doors then going and closing all her windows!!(You can not hear the car inside my house unless windows open)!!

I never rev it above 2000rpm while warming up so i keep it as quite as possible. But hey she is a such a drama queen. She leaves notes on our friends cars if they park for 20 minutes out side or close to her house. She has fallen out with every neighbour around so not to bothered. My girfriend and i have come to the conclusion that with her being single for so long she just needs a good Sh-ging that will relax her a bit!!( no offence ladies!)

Maybe in time she will come to apprieciate the beautifull sound and talk to us again!!

Very wise choice them there brake pads and the dampers. Will we see you now on the TVRCC track days?

Possibly not the best way to warm the car up with it just sitting on the drive?... You'll probably do your car (and your neighbour..) a favour by just driving off and taking it easy until things get up to temp.

So two questions then or three,

Where do i find out about track days, love to do one in a car, would be great fun.

Am i ok just to warm up car for say a couple of minutes, then as said just take it easy untill fully warm.

Toyo 888 tyres are these the best!are these just mainly for track use! or good for road as well. Are Pirellis as good or not quite. I have a account with Pirelli so can get cheap tyres, would be handy.

Cheers Paul

I thought that static warming up was not a great thing for a car and certainly not necessary. I just start mine and keep it under 2.5k until 2 blobs on the water gauge and then let it get warmed up fully before doing much more. I wouldnt want to inflict any more car noise on my neighbours than I have to. They are pretty understanding as there is a lot of car stuff happening at my house!

I would just start the car up with an initial bust of 1300rpm to allow oil to circulate then drive of gently keeping the revs below 2000 until car is warmed up to 60degrees. If you have a sport exhaust/carbon can company you can hear an audible diference in the sound. When you start to get the pops and bangs this generally means the engine is up to temprature.

Oil temperature is the important one.

I have got the big changable screen set to oil temp, but two blobs or 40degrees on the gauge is what you want before you start to increse the revs. Don't hoof it as soon as you reach 40.

Hey, you're getting more fun out of it than I did! The neighbours were pleased to see it go though. The Sag is much quieter. For the moment.
