You have to get a 150 point check first (a couple of hundred quid I think)

Assuming everything is OK, the warranty is then about £1,700 for a year I believe

I got mine done at London TVR - £150 for the 150 point check, then £1,300 for the wear and tear warranty. Trust me, the best money I have spent! It has already paid for itself (Diff and radiator went!). Well worth the money for a year's worry free motoring!

Don't forget that, if after the 150 point dealer check, they find anything wrong, you will then have to get this rectified before they will warranty the vehicle.

With the wear and tear warranty.... if the engine went bang would they fix it totally for free ?? I know this cost around about the £4000 mark and would think their would be something in the small print. Anyone claimed for this ?? If they do pay 100% its the best £1300 you could ever spend.

I understand that they do pay for this as well as other things such as clutch/diff etc. Best to speak with your TVR dealer and check all the small print. My cover is with Auto Protect and so far they have covered everything. I really think it is the best £1300 you can spend.

I've looked deeply into the small print and it seems the only thing they won't pay for (apart from tyres and brake pads) is the clutch lining itself and the catalytic converter. Since its usually something else on the clutch that fails then this shouldn't be an issue.

Yes they cover the engine going bang, pop, burble or splosh. Which is why people pay this much (check out BMW M car warranties - they are the same price and have a £250 excess on every claim!).

Get the Warrantee/check done at the same time as your service and you should not be charged for the check (all these thing should be checked in the service anyway).

Just got the Wear and tear Warrantee £1700, clean bill of health (well nothing that could not wait until the Warrantee kicked in )

Do you need to have main dealer services for the car to be covered?

According to the small print, yes

Is there an age or mileage limit on these warranties. Will I get one for an 04 Tamora? Thanks.

Mine says up to 50k miles, on a 03 T350c.

Is that not against the law now? Although I suppose on a tvr the difference between independent and cheap delaer aren't huge?

Depends where you go - Gatwick, though good, will charge you around £1200-1300 for a 12k service including tappets. Offord will do the same for £500, so there can be a big difference.

Technically I'm not sure they could refuse warranty work because you've not used a main dealer (due to block exemption), but no precedent has been set as far as I'm aware and I certainly wouldn't want to be the first to fight the case over a £5k rebuild...
