Sagaris service bonnet.
Discussion
Sorry,I know this is old news but am I the only one who still worries about the service bonnet popping out?
At sensible speeds obviously not a problem but am now starting to see much higher speeds and the little bonnet looks dangerously close to going walkies at times.
I saw what looked like 3/4 inch of little bonnet sticking up when showing 135mph the other day (on track of course) and had to slow down. When checking for fit everything is nice and snug, It hardly moves at all when I try it by hand.
Is there anything that can be done to help? I asked my dealer and they say no.
Anyone have any ideas?

Pete,
25K in Sagaris' so far, and the only issue with the bonnet has been the main bonnet coming loose from the catches: I used a rats tail file to provide a recess for the t-piece to sit in on the underside of the catch, and no further movement.
There is movement in the service bonnet to one degree or another in all of the cars. It is worth checking the standoff adjacent to the wiper bases at the rear of the main bonnet - if there is movement in the main bonnet it gives more latitude for the service bonnet to move.
Post a couple of photos of the catches and recesses - that will give a better idea of what is happening.

Try slightly increasing the angle of the rear flap on the access bonnet. This tip was given to me by NS himself and it works.
Undo the bolt which stops the rear flap moving, increase its angle by about 10-15 degrees, drill a new hole and re-bolt it so it can’t move. This changes the aerodynamics enough that the access bonnet no longer starts to lift until 130-140 and even then it isn’t too bad.

They can come off
, know of two that did but only as part of the problem with the plain nuts on the main bonnet brakets. Increasing the angle of the rear flap as mentioned does help keep it down.I wonder if the factory will offer an upgrade for owners of older cars to have the new bonnet?

I did look at increasing the angle on the rear flap but there is nowhere else for the bolt that holds it in place to go without redesigning it as the captive nut is on a small lump of fibreglass with only room for the one. There is nothing else to bolt too.
A closeup pic of any that have been altered would be useful.
I had a good look at the new Sagaris at the motor show, The bonnet is much better but I don't think it would be a viable retrofit on our one's as the scuttle panel looks different amongst other things. Even if possible would probably cost a fortune and with the colour of mine definately prohibitive!!
Looks like I will have to live with it and hope it stays put.
