Is the old ECU beyond repair? I agree, I really can't see how TVR get away with the lead time on their parts!

The dealer and I are now investigating this avenue, but from my side this will in my view only add another 2 weeks to an already 10 week wait for the engine rebuild. This is in addition to a 5 week wait in July for a new clutch.... I am seriously loosing my sense of humour over the whole sorry affair...

I assume it is a standard make bought in by TVR - e.g. Motec

Do you know who yours was made by?

Wait a mo... are you guys saying that the factory don't hold such spares for the cars they've supplied to the general public?

They were cutting stock levels in anticipation of a move to new premises, which is now off. "On backorder at the factory" is a common phrase around these parts though. Not helped by the previous owner allegedly not been keen tp pay suppliers, and thus suppliers not been keen to, er, supply. Smolensky takes over and it takes time to fix relationships (I have no facts, just a summary of past few months of factory gossip on forums/PH postings).

Are these not the same MBE ECU used in the Tuscan?? you could try MBE but they may not supply directly. I would have a chat to someone like Joo at www.trackcarsolutions.net even if you can only get a Tuscan ECU I don't see why he couldn't reflash it for you. Alternatively I'm sure he could supply an alternative ;-) but you would need to speak to him about that. I'd also try a breakers like Bell Hill if you want an 'original' item they must have one if you really want to pay for it??

Does the ecu have one big multiplug connector or three small connectors? I might have a spare single-plug version for sale, but none of the three-plug versions.

If its the same as mine then its 3 single connectors (04 T350).

All

thanks for response the ECU is a 3 plug MBE power control unit.

I should have clarified before the part is a warranty replacement (new one back in May) so what I should of asked is does anyone know if any dealers have any on the shelf that TVR could get back and forward to me...(I was being vague as ever) I have now ruffled some feathers at the factory and they are now on the case (fingers crossed). Don't think I'll get it back before this weekend though

Hi Lensey, thanks so do I, I'm in Benfleet but to be honest I think my love affair with TVR has come to an end.... once I have run in the engine I will be selling up, I have almost renewed every major component in my short ownership and not really had any joy from the car as a consequence, at least the next owner should do very nicely.
