although the noise has been happening for a while we have finally figured it out, the car had only ever been on a drive-on ramp so never noticed it, put it up on one with the arms that go under on the chassis, my clunking noise when parking is a worn ball joint!

its past closing time now so cant phone, anyone know how much a ball joint costs?

hope someone has in stock if i plan on heading on a road trip next week.

i love my TVR

If you're away next week have you got someone else lined up for your weekly column!!!
Can't be much left to do now!!

Sag is down at HHC for 12K service - a few minor issues, A/C playing up, water sensor and some trim issues. Hopefully that's it though.

I expect you'll get sorted pretty quickly.

hehe

well i hope there wont need to be one next week,

im just looking at ferry crossing now, really not sure yet if i should just book and go, confidence in the car is quite low at the moment, i will book last minute, dont want to risk booking and not getting the part up and fitted by the weekend.

The actual cost of the ball joint is very cheap, its the fitting that cost the money. rolleyes

Interesting... sounds like a bonded-in fixed screen then, but why? scratchchin

i have ordered the ball joint £31, so get that sorted at the weekend hopefully, think im gonna have to leave the trip to the continent for now though, too much going on

i shall give you a call tomorrow david,

the perspex window was just an idea i had while on the power-wieght ratio train of thought, as the small rear side windows on my T350 are made of plastic i thought it would be interesting to know how much weight could be saved getting rid of the heavyish glass window, just bolt it on in the same way as obviously still need access to the boot for fuel cap and targa panels, only disadvantage being loosing the heated rear screen (but im not going to use the car in winter anyway)

is'nt that the exact place you need the weight. If you want to go on a diet try the wheels and the air con.

I see no point in messing about with things like perspex windows until you look at some other basics - such as the wheels - swap them for something more lightweight, then lose the stereo, speakers, carpets. Just replacing the rear screen will not do much for your power to weight and it will look crap in comparison.

IMO an empty bladder, a good poo, remove the tyreweld cans and you'll lighten the car by the same amount
