My 02 Tamora passed its MOT yesterdaybounce. I know this is nothing but my Tamora still goes on without any major problems (Touching wood)thumbup.

Decided to wake Malmesbury up yesterday after the MOT, with the JP sounding fantastic, to the suprise of these workmen yikesyikesyikes

Also deflated some tcensoredt's ego who was tailgating me in his BMW Z3 hehe. I simply put my foot down and blew him away byebye.

Got many looks in Chippenham as I passed through it.

Long live these fantastic Tivs thumbup.

Excellent!

12k service on Wednesday on my 06 Tam, and likewise so far no problems. Hope that I can say the same after they've opened up the engine!

Keep waking the workmen, and pi55ing off silly drivers!

Completely agree Ian. Took mine out today as the weather eventually got better and still can't stop smiling. The JP seems to get louder, at one stage one bang nearly caused a poor woman at the side of the raod to jump out of her skin! Was also very impressed, when crawling in traffic and my Tam was getting more looks and pointing than the Maserati in front of me. Happy days cloud9

I wouldn't take your hands off that wood. My 02 Tam blew its engine shortly after its 12K service/MOT costing my £7K. No signs of wear at the service and absolutely no warning from the car. If you haven't already, do what I didn't and get yourself the £1800 wear and tear warranty (if its still around).

Good luck with the Tam anyway - what an amazing car - fingers crossed you have better luck than me!

Sorry to here that James. Hope the Tam is OK now. I am considering a warranty but will do that early next year if I get another contract. My Tamora has done 20,600 miles, but I don't know the previous owner, and how he treated the car from new. Did he run it in properlyscratchchin. It has a full service history, so that's a comfort. I'll keep on driving until it happens, then I think it will be the red rose conversionhehe.

My 02 Tamora (see classifieds hehe) is still going strong at 22500 miles - never had a major problem with either od the two Tams I've had. As for warranty, at that sort of price, a rebuild only costs two years' worth of warranty - I don't know who stung you for £7k, but they must have been having a laugh at your expense (literally!)See here. A blueprint is the way forward after a rebuild.

Sorry, here's the full story.

I'd agreed to sell the car privately for £20K - next thing I know its overheating - take it in to be checked over - lots of diagnostics & other tests - engine out - they finally realise the problem and diagnose an engine rebuild - £1K in labour alone to get that far!

The dealership was getting no help from the factory. TVR Power offered to rebuild for something like £4K to £4.5K but there was a 6 week waiting list and no guarantee of when it could be done. I needed to sell the car to release the capital tied up in it (wouldn't have sold it for motoring reasons of course ). I was in a complete hole and wanted to blow the bl00dy thing up. I did investigate other rebuilding options but they all seemed relatively unproven at the time (in my opinion) and costly - and who's to say I would have sold it straight away anyway.

Fortunately a nice man from Bath bought it for £13.5K with a broken engine, dropped a 4ltr Tuscan engine in it and performed lots of other nice upgrades so I suspect its probably one of the fastest Tam's in the kingdom now.

So there we are - actually it cost me £7.5K !!!

Still I loved it and it was worth it. But I think 10,000 miles, depreciation, servicing, insurance and repairs cost me the best part of £25K in 24 months!!!!!!
