Winter Storage Advice
Discussion
With the onset of the colder weather, my winter runabout due in the next few weeks and the mileage hitting 11,000 it will be nearly time to give my TVR a rest over the winter months.
My intention is to keep the car in the garage while using my runabout for daily commutes etc. With the mileage at a little over 11,000 it leaves me with 1,000 miles to use for fun over the winter, here's hoping for a few dry sunny days, before having the 12,000 mile service in March before the warranty expires.
As this is my first winter and the car will be unused for weeks at a time I wondered if anyone can advise me on the best way to keep it in good shape. I really don't want to spend a lot of money just to keep the car stored but it will be in a normal garage with all the usual things like kids bikes, spin dryer etc.
Do I cover the car? leave the handbrake off, leave the windows open slightly? (they do tend to stick if the doors aren't opened frequently)...
..any tips would be gratefully received.

Always put it away dry and make sure the brake discs are dry. Leave the handbrake off.
Crack open windows about an inch each side, this lets the air circulate and stops it smelling musty.
Put on a trickle charger (Accumate or Airflow, etc)as this keeps the battery topped up.
Cover it with a cotton cover. This lets the air through. I put blankets across the wings as then anyone going in and out of the garage does not tend to be able to scratch it so easily.
If you can warrant it I would recommend putting in a dehumidifier as this keeps it all nice and dry. They are pretty cheap and handy round the house as well.
I have stored all my sportscars like this and each year (touch wood) no hassles.
