Hello all,
A catch near the windscreen on the sag has worked loose and I've misplaced the thingy to tighten.

Just been to Halford's and they have nothing to fit - is it a specialist TVR only fitting or do I just need to look somewhere else?

thanks in anticipation,
sw

a swiss army knife and a bit of gemmying can fix it. Equally a small screw driver will do the job with a bit of persuasion. From then on always carry the allen key thing as this had a habit of happening quite often with my car.

They are available from good tool suppliers. Possibly somewhere like B&Q would do one as part of a set of security screw driver heads. I bought a spare from a tool company with a salaes stand at a show I went to. (sorry I can't rememeber their name as it was a while ago).

Halfords sell a "security" torx bolt driver set (T5 or 6 IIRC), similar to the allen key set (on display usually next to each other) That's where I got mine.

Mod I have done on the 'Gris, which I have posted before, and has worked without fail for 30K of (cumulative!!) Sagaris miles.
Remove main bonnet, undo alun bolts from retaining catch.
Turn upside down, take a rats tail file across the underside to provide a .5 to 1mm seat for the t-bar to rest in. A soft rubber washer 2-3mm thick above the t-bar will give the necessary take up on slack.

Thanks chaps,

To make matters worse it appears to be incredibly stiff now and practically impossible to turn.
A job for the weekend.
