I'm going to look at a T350T next week and owner has asked that i provide my own insurance.

Having recently sold my car, I cancelled the insurance policy to recover some of the premium, not knowing when I'd find a replacement car.

I'm now looking for someone who can offer 1 day insurance! I did a search in the General Gassing section and there were a couple of companies mentioned, but none would cover a TVR.

Anybody know of a company who do such cover for a TVR?

Thanks.

it might be quite hard. Ins co's hate insuring high group cars for a v short period. The relative risk is massive. If you have any kind of insurance cover, try there first.

Try www.dayinsure.com.

They'll cover any car @ £20/day (£10/day if Group 17 or less).

I used them for an extended Elise test drive (2 days) and they seemed fine. I didn't have to claim on the policy, so can't comment on that side of things. Thankfully!

For a laugh I tried to insure my own car on the web site and got the following:

Sorry, we cannot insure this vehicle.

One possible reason might be that the vehicle does not meet our vehicle acceptance criteria.

Another reason might be that we do not have any insurance grouping information for this vehicle. This may be the case for example if the vehicle is rare, very old or very new. In these cases, we cannot insure the vehicle.

If the vehicle meets our acceptance criteria, you can click the Edit make/model link and try and select the correct vehicle information from a list.

If you mistyped the registration number, you can click the Edit registration link to go back and change it.

Not sure if this helps but I have my "every day" car insured throught Direct Line. I recently bought a Chimaera at the weekend and Mannings were closed. Direct Line allowed me to insure the car for a week for about £17 which gave me time to get the car home and sort out something permanent. They told me you can do this up to seven times each year.

Ive been speaking to a helpful chap at DayInsure and the reason you cant cover the T350C or T is because they don't have it on their list! You can enter the car reg and it displays the correct car but thats where it ends, rejection quickly follows!

Anyway, after much talking they are allowing me to put the car down as a Tamora, to get it through the system. So i get my days cover, a test drive and fingers crossed a T350T shortly.
