Great job by colin and dave!

had my 18,000 mile service done by these guys today and was well worth the 680 mile round trip from aberdeen, top chaps

As part of the service they put in the magnecor leads, iridium plugs and a new pair of front toyo T1-rs i took with me, as well as the normal 6k treatment i asked for the tappets to be done because i didn't trust the previous owners words to be fair, it needed 12 shims!!!!!! Some being much worse than others, also mentioned the fuelling was lean according to the rolling road i had done, turned out to be very lean, fixed. also both exhaust hangers were ed, the roof panels have the original design clips that were only on the first few targa's and absolute pish, re-fitted the clips and now much much better, re-sealed the headlights, a new passenger side window seal was needed.

got a shiney new gear knob too.

also found my clunking noise was a broken engine mount and the throttle pots units were LOOSE and caused my car to idle at 1200rpm.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE! now as im sure most of you noticed my car has been given some right abuse for the last 7k iv had it but i am glad to report it now feels very tight and refined in comparison to what it was, i'd never driven another tvr so couldnt compare, very much smoother engine noise at idle and acceleration and drives better.

Dave was also able to tell me that my engine is solid, it has the later finger followers ~(from india) and the stronger (turkish) cam. which have no signs of wear and told no reason why the engine should ever need a rebuild if serviced properly!

the cost to do all the work and sort my gremlins was £700 and well worth it!

hollowpockets over and out.

i am not sure about the warranty as i don't have one, but he did send something to the factory i had to sign regarding the service history.

they also said putting the car away for winter and not using it is the worst thing you can do with a tvr, s the electrics especially.

yep david its great restored alot of trust in the car!

i remember in the (one of many) debates about re-mapping, daftlad commented saying a good service is better value for money than a re-map, in this case, very true!

still fancy some de-cats though!

Hi Graham,

I bet you're glad you made the effort, these guys are amazing. It's not as far for me to travel, but still quite a way, it wouldn't matter if it was twice the distance, I'd still make the effort. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car!!!!!

ah one other thing, when in blackpool went past the factory to thank one of the guys in the bodyshop for introducing me and my friend to a couple of stunning blonde girls at the syndicate night club last friday, he (tvr worker) also works as a doorman in the club.

while at the factory asked if it was possible to get a wee tour about the place before it closes as i would have really liked to seen the place, but nope, sorry we cant let you on site as we have a new health and safety advisor who would have us shot if found you in the factory, so no more tours folks, the girl at reception reminded our pal not to take us in to the factory, kinda suspicious eh! but she gave me a couple of posters though! thumbup

oh the girls were good by the way! hehe
