Morning all,

When the time comes its going to either be a 911 Turbo or a Sagaris. I love the car, but there are a couple of things I want to get some collective PH wisdom on...

1. The suspension

The car handles beautifully, but the ride for the passenger is a bit lively! Now, (obviously!) I do not intend on being the passenger but I need to take into account the long trips I do take with said passenger! Is there anything that can be done to make the car more compliant? I am not asking for Audi A8 levels. My 944 T is fairly stiff...anything around that level would be more than adequate (though probably not possible).

2. Seats

The seats are beautifully made, but not terribly comfortable I think. What are the alternatives? I understand the new 'gris will have sparco seats?

3. Speakers

I love my music and the system in car is not what I am used to. What are the options? Head units are not a problem... the question is about the speakers... Anyone here tried anything out?

4. Exhaust

I know I am going to get pilloried for this one! If I wanted it quieter, what are the option? Not say I am going to do this!! Just a thought, an option. I absolutely low the pops and bangs on the downchanges... lovely. The engine has such a lovely "old" and classic feel to it. Real roar...

Thanks all, and a special thanks to DJC for letting me take a look at his 'gris - stunning machine and an evo star to boot!

Here's some of my limited knowledge:

2. Seats

Yes the sparco's will be coming. But also many preferre the first seat. I don't know quite how you could get your hands on one, but i'm sure it's possible. Here's a picture of all three seats:

Fisrt:

Second (current):

Third (sparco):

3. Speakers

There's a guy that everyone on here recommends i'm sure someone iwll be along with his nam soon but by all accounts he can do anything with your Tvr. You name it and he'll put it in and make it sound like a concert hall

4. Exhaust

You can get cans for it as far as i know

The ride height is adjustable - easily, and it does make a lot of difference. I do long trips - Nurburgring/London etc from Aberdeen in Scotland, and no complaints from either driver or passenger - Jane sleeps quite comfortably on occasion!!
Bearing in mind that this car is a daily driver - every day, the Cerb and the Chim are pretty much retired although still in the garage!!

2. Seats

The seats are beautifully made, but not terribly comfortable I think. What are the alternatives? I understand the new 'gris will have sparco seats?

As above, prefer the originals - but down to personal taste.

3. Speakers

I love my music and the system in car is not what I am used to. What are the options? Head units are not a problem... the question is about the speakers... Anyone here tried anything out?
------
Several different threads on this forum - use the search facility - some quite high spec systems have been put in - if I remember rightly, there was a car for sale with a really good setup.

4. Exhaust

I know I am going to get pilloried for this one! If I wanted it quieter, what are the option? Not say I am going to do this!! Just a thought, an option. I absolutely low the pops and bangs on the downchanges... lovely. The engine has such a lovely "old" and classic feel to it. Real roar...

Stick with it, the original is pretty good, but check with DJC for either the quiet option or the silly loud version .... the latter will have sheep hopping up and down in fields three miles away if you want to!!

The Sagaris will do so much more for you as a driving car - it is a real experience - which does not dilute as time goes on. When you get the car (note - when and not if!!!) come along for one of the Nurburgring runs. The most addictive combination I know of....Sagaris/Nurburgring....

I second the combination of a Sagaris at the nurburging. All Saggy owners owe themselves this trip at the very least the once.

Regarding seats just take the seat cushion out on the original seats for all the support you'll need. It worked very well for me at oulton park. It's also a good fix for taller owners. I now have the Sparcos in my tuscan. they are great but you can't remove the seat cushion, so more supportive more of the time but ultimately less so for track work.

Speakers are an issue but surely can be easily upgraded.

Ride? an upgrade to ohlins adjustable dampers should sort you out but you will have to pay for them. I think at their most basic a set is about £2k.

Exhaust? Don't be so ridiculous!

Im ashamed to say I treated Darab to a little hooning action and showed him just how easy it is for a Sagaris to go rather fast indeed

Darab...you never mentioned quieter. Nobody has *ever* mentioned quieter! We can do quieter for you though dont worry. You might well have to physically defend yourself from my main man like for insulting his notion of what a TVR exhaust is meant to do, but Im sure I can calm him down enough to make you a quiet one

(actually its quite easy)

i changed the standard tvr cans for the carbon fibre tuscan cans on my saggy, personaly i think they look far better, thats obviously why i did it.
they are very slightly quieter than the old cans, but alot more deeper/bassier.

I'd suggest Carl Baker for audio installs (www.tvruk.tv), I know he recently did a Sag' install.
