Hi All

First real problem with my beautiful Sag and i hope that someone may have a simple answer before i have it relayed to the Dealer to get sorted.

Not overly concerned as it is under warranty which includes the recovery but if i can get it
started myself it would make life a little easier.

Drove it home from my mates house which was about 10 miles. Parked for around 30 mins while i popped in the house. When i came back out to drive to the office it turned over slowly and wouldn't start. After trying about three or four times it got slower and slower and eventually stopped turning over at all. I put it in gear, released the handbrake and gently pushed it forward to make sure the engine hadn't seized and it turned over. Very relieved!

Now all the lights, whirring and flux capaitor buzzs and clicks as usual but will not turnover. I thought maybe the immobiliser had cut in and put the little key thing in the slot to reset but still no turnover.

I am guessing that either the battery has gone completely flat which would surprise me as i use it almost every day and had only just driven it home with no issues or lights showing on the dash or the starter has given up the ghost.

Basically is there anyway that the immobiliser has cut in after it stopped turning over / possibly low battery level and if so how do i reset and try and start again if there is enough juice in the battery to give it one last spin for good luck.

I think your battery has got a dead cell.

It does sound like a battery problem, is it charging. You could try bump starting the car or jump starting to check.

Cells sometimes just die/crack/expire.

New battery shoudl cure it.

Where is the battery located and is it accessable by someone who has no previous training as a contortionist. I seem to remember on my Tuscan that it was somewhere behind the front wheel. Might try the jump leads if i can at the battery but if i need to start towing it around or pushing to bump start i will probably just get TVR to recover and fix.

The only reason that i haven't had it recovered yet is because the nearest dealer is about an hours drive away even at weekends with little traffic but if i need to i will.

Try charging the battery (although sounds as if it’s had it), if you get it started make sure it’s charging (if not check the alternator fuse). Otherwise check the fuse and replace the battery.

if you havent already solved it, i had the same issue with my t350. The battery was completely dead. Lots of noises, indicator ticking and alarms - so you'll have to buy the special charging leads and adapter and plug it in under the passenger sides wheel arch. My local dealer suggested buying a trickle charger and plugging that into the cigarette lighter and leaving it on all the time. Since then, no probs!

Common alternator fuse problem.Mine used to eat fuses until the link was replaced by an AA man who thought that it was a loose contact, been good as gold since.

Fingers crossed of course!
