Hi all slight problem with my sagaris. Had her for about a month now and needs a little throttle after starting from cold to stop her from stalling. Today the problem escalated to an erratic tick over from start up for about 30sec, had to keep the revs up so she didn't cut out. Popped in for some fuel after a good run, and when I re started her the same again but not as bad as from cold then its fine. I've had a quick search and didn't see anything similar. Any Ideas, shes done 8200 miles on a 55 plate.

Mine's the same, wouldn't mind some ideas about it. I'm hoping though it will be sorted in the first service. Though it only had it's idling sorted about 400miles ago. What does cause this?

I will probably end up taking it to TVR Power in the new year for them to sort. It's either a software problem or sensor playing up( I'm guessing). Thought I'd got another 15 months warranty left but thats all shagged now.

Cold starting does sometimes produce some odd idling - particularly if the A/C is left on. Often thought a brief tune up every 3k is worthwhile. Started at -6 degrees yesterday, took a moment to get going!!

Dunno if the Sag is the same as T350 but I had weird idling probs when one of the throttle pots was worn. It's a carbon track thing so under continuous vibration the film wears away where the 'pickup' touches (often at idle).
Just a thought - am sure with a quick tickle at a TVR service place they'll set it up right... J

Took it in to TVR Power Thursday. It just needed setting up £60 and about 1 hour to sort. Shes running A-OK now.

T cars won't go 6,000 miles/12 months between services without a tickle on the laptop.

I hope the Sagaris does as my nearest dealer is a roundtrip of 500 miles and two ferry rides away, so i don't want be be taking it back between services too blah

The car wil be fine, but like a car with multiple carbs, it will go out of tune - nothing to serious.

Given Daftlad's comments, I cannot tell if I am agreeing or disagreeing, but...

Mine seems to be fine for 6k / 12 months at a time. No idle problems so far, no throttle needed to start. Don't worry until something actually happens - this place is awash with potential problems, most of which won't happen to you.

Happy driving

Exactly the same was happening to mine, dealer tried to fix it once and lasted 100 miles.

Just had its 12,000 mile service at the factory and the guys said that there was a fix for this problem, something to do with wiring I think.

Works brilliantly now, car feels like new and running so smooth. Factory service guys really did a good job.

Funky, whats revs is she ticking over at.

I had a similar problem on my T350. Revs were to low at tickover.
You should be looking for about 850-900 when cold which will drop to about 700 when warm.
If idle tickover does need changing its a 5 minute job, Dom from TVR power talked me through it over the phone

I had already played with the tick over.Thinking it could just need a little adjustment, but no it still needed a set up to make it run smooth again.

Well it was set up before it came to me to idle at 900ish but after 400 miles its now gone down to 600-700. Hopefully once it's done again on the 1000 miles service it will stay up there a bit better. Will they be able to show me how to change it over int he uk do you think? That would be handy!

Just bought a T350 with the same problem, 10k on the clock. At cold when started justs cuts out, fine though when warm. Just spoke to Dom at TVR power and says it's a simple fettle and an hours labour (£50) so will let you know as it's booked in next week. (having a the super sports exhaust fitted to )
