All,

anyone have any ideas of what may have been disturbed to cause a slight metalic vibration noise, recent work include 1000 mile service and new alternator, I have looked at all the normal places eg air box catches and bonnet catch but its still doing it.... its only when cold and between 1000 and 1600 rpm. I know its nothing to worry about but its driving me mad...

My dealer is some distance away so I will sort myself if I can find it

TIA

Check that there is no contact between the underside of the engine/clutch/oil feeds etc to the lower protective plate. Engine mounts do give, and can lead to contact. Also, check exhaust supports - and you'll only see it when you can hear it!!

New alternator means new/replacing the old drive belt too. Maybe its too tight?

(I hope they put a new belt on BTW - stupid not to while they're down there).
