So, while getting all my exhaust brackets replaced by Henley TVR they pointed out a warranty job my car needs. I took a look. Yep, the top rear wishbone bushes are shot and allowing the chassis to contact the wishbone etc.

Anyone who had an earlier TVR knows that you need to fit thrust washers or similar to stop the bushes pushing out of their position and needed to be replaced. TVR know this too. So why in 2004 were they still leaving these last two bushes 'un-thrusted'? Pillocks.

Henley say the bolts for these 2 buches are slightly wider meaning the 'normal' washers won't fit. Nice of TVR to not bother. When they replace mine (thankyou extended warranty) they will put washers in.

Another owner with a 2005 T350 had his done at the first 12 month service (4000 miles ish).

Guess this is one of the silly improvements TVR could have made to same themselves plenty of money in warranty claims. I wonder how many other cars have the same bushes needing replacement...

Deja Vu!
I had the same conversation with Henley Heritage about 2 hours ago. My '04 T350C is in for another reason (which they have sorted.......excellent service as usual thumbup), but they have found several other things wrong, one of which is the worn rear top bushes (10k miles). They suggested replacement with thrust washers fitted, as you described.

I mentioned that I would have been keen to replace with Powerflex PU bushes, as I have used these on a previous car and they transformed the handling, but Powerflex do not yet make them for the T350 (I contacted them and it seems that it is on their "to do" list). Henley are confident though that the thrust washer will increase the life expectancy of the new bushes massively.

I had mine done on the T350 about a month ago, 04 car with 11k on it? Also had the same with my Tam that was an 03 car with 12k on it?

Does any one know where to get hold of the thrust washers? Don't think they were fitted to mine when they replaced the bushes?

Not that I know of, mine feels just fine. Must be affecting the rear geo a tiny amount though.
