T350c - potential purchaser
Discussion
Hello all.
After spending the past few months hovering around this forum, I have decided it is about time I bought one of these TVR things. There are two that have caught my eye (and are almost within budget), one in the Classifieds and one on Autotrader.
The Classifieds one is the Red Glow Pearl T350c, I think this belongs to carsarecool. I have contacted Martin and he is going to send me some more photos.
The second is a starmist blue T350c at Cheshire TVR, reg. AY04 ETJ.
Does anybody know anthing of this car (or can indeed vouch for Martin's car before I take a 220 mile trip to Devon)? Any information would be much appreciated, even just general tips on ownership.
And by "potential purchaser", I mean "definite purchaser" obviously.
Thanks,
Steve.

Hello Steve make sure its got air con they get hot/stuffy inside.Your better buying from a TVR dealer who will supply you with a warranty. It will also get a full service if it needs it.Dont forget your spending a lot of hard earned so be careful.JUST had a peek at the Red Glow one its got all the right extras and a TVR warranty. Get it checked out, looks good.

You can buy privately and then get the warranty so long as the car has a full TVR service history. It will need an inspection before the warranty can be taken out. I suggest making the car passing this inspection and an problems being rectified part of a private purchase deal.
The best warranty is the TVR approved extended warranty. There are cheaper warranties out there though.
BTW, Red Glow pearlescent is a lovely colour

Mine is up for sale as well
It's very similar to carsarecool's in terms of age and mileage but has less warranty (though it is the full TVR approved one with wear and tear)
Guess it's down to your colour preference
My colour looks nicer in the plastic than it does in the photos, so to speak!

ARGH! Mr Tomato, had I seen that last week you'd have had a deal, looks a minter!
Sadly I can't quite stretch to 25k.

Just getting the ball rolling for you
. How about 20k and my collection of toy glow-worms? They're great, put them against a lamp and they glow!!
On a more serious note, I'm a bit stretched with buying a house at the mo. However, I could meet you halfway between 20 and 25k in cash, but to be honest I don't want to make such an offer, as it's insulting given the condition of your car!
Good luck with the sale, i'm sure that'll shift very quickly.

Hi Steve,
I was in Germany over New Year and didn't get a chance to do any more photos.
If you're still interested, I'll send them this weekend for you?
Martin
Thanks for the responses chaps. Nice to feel welcome. When I eventually decide and stump up the cash, I shall no doubt be asking for more advice.
Carsarecool - I am still interested (despite the only positive comment about your car being about the colour, which I agree with
). More photos would be grand and I shall be in touch.
TurboTomato - I had actually just had a look at yours before starting the topic, but thought it was slightly above my budget (I have to keep reminding myself to factor in the £1000 insurance and, as recommended, the cost of a warranty). It does look pretty fine though, especially with the dark wheels, the location and weather help as well
. I shall have a serious think about it also, though I don't have any glow-worms to offer.
It is a shame there is no confused message icon...

Personally I think all the 350's in the classifieds are 3 to 5k too much, and some of the dealer prices are pie in the sky, especially as the factory is no more and it looks likely this really is the end for the forseeable future. I love the 350, looks, style and performance second to none. But after 3 months of searching and the not too bright future i think noble is a safer bet for me. Genuine tvr warranty not worth the paper its written on IMHO now. Sorry. Sa, get back to the fccuk forum! Blue one on 05 plate i saw in london was okay, up for 25750 but the bloke selling is a typical car dealer. needs 12k service but i think you could get it for about 24500 if you pushed. There was also a nice yellow one up for sale. Have a look at the last post in the exterior colours post. He may have taken it off the market for good now, but might be worth PM'ing him. Nice spec and price and brand new lump
Good luck on your hunt.

Now I'd never expect a potential buyer to say that
In my view pricing for T350s (private sale):
- 2003 = 20-23k
- 2004 = 22-25k
- 2005 = 25-28k
Tamoras a smidge less since their acquisition cost was slightly lower. T350T costs possibly a smidge higher but maybe thats me wishing since I own one (which isn't for sale).
There are people desperate to get out of their 'T' cars who will take less.
Edited to say: Its a crap time of year to sell these kind of cars and anyone trying should IMO hold on until March/April when more buyers will come out of the woodwork. Mind you, there does seem to be a steady stream of buyers posting on this forum.

I pretty much agree with your pricing range, maybe 1-1.5k less on each one dependent on condition and mileage, so no need to roll your eyes at me
And i am not a potential buyer anymore. I liked Scottys IIRC, the yellow one, who had a decent car and a decent price. Too many variables for me (tcr) now tho, and that car went off the classifieds christmas time. I have been looking for either an exige s, or more likely an M12
