I think the Sports exhaust is a must (no more power but the sound my man evil ) and if you really want to p*ss of the neighbors the decat (if you've got an understanding garage that will pass the MOT no questions asked). Always thought the rechip was a bit expensive for the return in BHP, lets face it these cars are fast enough as they are.

More Power igor.....More Powerevil

Just thought you might be interested that TVRs factory advice to me some time back was not to decat an S6 as it can servously damage the engine. Not being an engineer myself I dont know how true this is but put me off the subject.

I would have thought that removing the cat and upgrading the exhaust etc would have required the car to be remapped for fueling issues? I do not know if the chip mentioned above is a plug and play, but if it is i personally would not use one. A remap may be expensive for comparative gains in bhp and torque but it is giving you a safely mapped car which should last a hell of alot longer. Also agree that masses of torque on the road is nicer than more power (in my opinion)

Id love to just say "drivel" to that, but it would just get everybody into an argument but Ill settle for the more diplomatic answer of there are/were ppl at TVR who knew more than other ppl at TVR about certain things.

Lets not even start on the irony of the factory answer that somebody else might do something to cause damage to their engines!

I wouldn't have thought de-catting would harm the engine, but I'm no expert. I have heard arguments in favour of de-catting following stories of the cats breaking up and getting sucked back into the engine and causing damage - how this can happen I've no idea.

I've spoken to Joolz (TCS), Dom (TVR Power) & Paul (Austec) and all were unanimous in saying that de-catting (I asked specifically about T350's but imagine the same applies to all SP6 cars) would only lead to very minor power gains, but that re-mapping the ECU following an exhaust upgrade, over the original fitted to the T350, was likely to yield some good power gains. From what I've been told the standard exhaust on the T350 robs it of power and that the first upgrade should simply be to change over the exhaust to a better one. However, having done this the ECU should then be re-mapped to reap the full benefit of changing over the exhaust.
