I like my Tamora very much but there is one thing it lacks and that is low down Torque, If the speed 6 had the torque characteristcs of the V8's It would be perfect (well except the digi dash).

So my question is what is the best way to increase the torque? I'm not interested in more BHP just Torque. 350 bhp is plenty for a road car. I'd be willing to loose the top end speed to get at least 50lbs more. Any suggestions?

While I'm at it does anyone know who could get rid of the useless digi dash and replace it with proper gauges like the cerbera!

Er the question you want to be asking yourself is how much you want to shell out to achieve these desired results? Are you thinking it will cost you something nominal like £500? Are you thinking it might be expensive at £1000 or are you actually thinking seriously about it and have already set £5000+ aside for the job?

I have 8K set aside for improvements so I'm interested to see what I can get for that. More interested in the Torque curve than the dash. But you have to admit the digi dash is not as pretty as gauges.

Change the diff.

Edited to say the 3.9 would be the best but your top end would be around 145.

If you cant get a 3.9 go for the 3.7 which are probably easier to get hold of.

The T cars dash is great. I'd hate to go back to analogue dials on my T350. I do think the Tuscan dials are a bit weird though...

As for torque - I assume because you want the car to be more beastly in normal road driving. You certainly need to flick it down a few cogs to make sure the turbo boys are kept in check. However, I don't really see this as a bad thing - makes driving the car more fun. You're not just pushing the loud pedal and holding tight without a bit of planning etc.

Get the car tuned at Austec with a Mark Adams chip - not masive gains, but more driveability. Other than that you'll be needing a 4.0 engine which IMO isn't THAT much torqueier (certainly feels chunkier low down though).

Diff sounds like a good start.

You need a Sagaris/Tuscan S engine with a C/R gear box & the correct diff ratio.

I really like the digital dash,& would not change it.

One of the independent bodywork companies (think it might have been Newlun) used to advertise that they had put a Cerbera dash into a Tuscan (or something like that) perhaps you could check some of the previous threads. Personally, I like the dash on my T350C, the only problem I find is difficulty reading the digital bit with my sunglasses on!!!

Could just swap crank to 4.2 well within this budget- speak to Autocraft or Austec. But you may be tempted by rest of their menu!

I love the dash in mine, the cerbera dash is OK but gives lots of problems and doesn't give an accurate reading. Most of the cerbera guys use GPS to get the true speed reading.
Redrose your engine and close ratio box should do the trick.

Do not just stick in a CR box without considering the diff, as others have said, 3.73 or 3.91. I run a 3.91 with CR in my track Sagaris and its phenominal.

3.46 diff (std) and CR box is a dreadfull combination.

Just ordered up my 3.9 cwp set, to go with Quaife's ATB gear-type lsd that they're adapting to fit the BTR diff for the first time at last

I have 2 cerbs both of which have had no issues with the dash and both have had accurate readings. I cant recall reading about anyone having reading or dash problems with their cerb. I can remember it being debated once a couple of yrs ago but I dont recall it being an issue for many/any?
