Supercharged T350C
Discussion
600bhp T350 ! I am in the initial stages of the development discussions with a well respected tuning company with regard to supercharging my T350.
Decided not to sell after all as its just one of those raw driving experiences that you dont get anywhere else. So the charger is looking like a distinct possibility. Anywhere between 400bhp and 600bhp with launch control seems the direction to go - but hey this might not happen for a while, but will keep the posts coming if it progresses.Typhon my arse!

My TVR Craft supercharged SP6 T350 racer should be up and running in the next 3 weeks............ can't wait.

Supecharged Speed Six. What can I say other than

Is this really possible in the T350 given the space etc ??
If so I would be very interested, 450 to 500bhp would be good

Ceejay's will be the first T350 to prove it, after the one already in a roadgoing Tuscan. The limiting factor is just cost; re-engineering many engine parts to take it, plus uprating all the transmission and cooling system, once much above 350lb/ft torque.
But hey, it's only money
The space is an issue but there is the room. TVR themselves certainly looked at supercharging the 350 and Sagaris. The real arse is if you want to go above 450BHP...you'll be wanting an intercooler and then space does become an issue. We have done preliminary investigations and development work for the Sagaris installation, but put the projects on hold whilst we concentrated on the slat and aero work.
After 450 of course comes the gearbox issue. At which point Im simply going to say...opinions are divided.

I can't wait to see some options on this when some engine companies have done their testing...I think 450 bhp would be ample...
We're using an intercooler mounted underneath the radiator which no longer lies flat. Both items are custom built by Dockin Engineering originally fabricated for the twin turbo Taz but modified for the T350. Air flow on a race car is crucial and I wanted the nose to look as original as possible so we've made a small cut-out in the lower nose section and removed some of the front floor. The black front splitter will disguise the aperture a little too. All of this new intake is for the intercooler.

Yeah, that will probably be enough

Good solution on a race car, should look good.

There's never enough, you can't have too much power
But is there really enough evidence that anyone's Speed Six engine is relaiable and robust enough to have forced induction and still give a decent service life (irrespective of installation/ heat issues). Ceejay's engine is for racing so a very different proposition, but I've not seen any robust evidence that there is a fixed naturally aspirated Speed Six engine. The prospect is a very exciting one though.

Can't just bolt it on, but then can't with any engine. Design mods and uprating most internal parts are needed. Racing will stress it far more than road use, so I imagine that Ceejay's will be a useful test of both Autocraft's main mods to the S6 and the charger installation

There are only 4 guys I would trust designing the supercharging installation for the S6. Three of them on the job itself and one of them for taking the fumes away. All are ex factory, one of them has decided to be a tea total nr enough hippy (sorry John
) the other two are Simon and Andy. There is only *one* bloke to talk to about TVR exhausts, the legendary Mr Quick.
That is no disparagement to the Autocraft boys, Im just saying JR, Simon and Andy are the experts bar nobody and those three have forgotten more about how, what and why over the S6 than anybody else has learnt.

Believe that crank at £5000.00 is a must plus JE pistons and treated rods. The £5k figure is what TVR paid for the cranks on the Typhon drone.
I appreciate all feedback on this subject. The company interested is www.eastcoastcustomsonline.co.uk who have done some pretty impressive jap work as my Subaru shows (item 7).

Oh god, dont start mentioning Speed Six cranks, that is a sure fire way to start a bushfire!
The first person to mention the words "cast" and "Melling" in the same sentance is getting sent to the naughty boy corner!
