Going to replace the shocks on the T350, has anyone replaced with Gaz golds? I'm told they transform the T350.

Had the Tamora suspension replaced with Gaz and I am told that the car is basically the same underneath.

One word...

Awesome

Another order above an already sweet handling car. Fitted by Mr Gaz and Ian @ Torque RVT

I've got these on my car - fitted by the previous owner.
I can't really say whether they are better or worse than the basic set up, other than the fact that the car does seem to ride well. I do, however, have a question for anyone else with them:

How do you adjust them? Do I need to get a mechanic to adjust them or is there a fiddly knob somewhere?
[Feel free to respond via e-mail so as to avoid hijacking this thread ... any more than I've just done. Oops]

TIA

I have Gaz golds on my SEAC and they have a twiddly knob at the bottom.

You will be able to reach it through your spider wheels easily to adjust.

You just need to make sure you adjust both sides the same.

One way for harder - the other for soft.

It's that easy.

The standard set-up of the T350 is pretty hard - so at least you can set it softer and if you go to a track - just harden it up.

The shocks sound good! does anyone know the codes for the front and rear units for a Tamora?
I want to order them myself and fit too.

Cheers

Just call Derek at Absolutely Shocks - he will get you the correct ones. From memory - they are something like £300 a pair.. or slightly less not too sure..

Thanks for the tip. I'll have a look at the weekend.

I took the car out this evening (had to do a run to Dreadnought @ Callander for a replacement oil pressure sender unit). I've only had the car a few weeks, so still getting used to the drive but I have to say - and this might be more to do with the Tamora generally, rather than the gaz shocks - that it has fantastic road manners. The steering feels very direct and it seems to change direction easily (and predictably!) I had an Elise for a few days before I bought the Tamora and I never thought the TVR would come close to the Elise's handling. I'm unlikely to wring 100% of the respective capabilities out of either car during road use, but I reckon that my Tamora feels not that far off the Elise.

Not sure if that helps, but I certainly feel better for sharing it.... I guess what I mean is this: if your car doesn't feel quite as tight as this, maybe gaz shocks are the missing link?

Difficult one this
I set up a Nitron car the other day and I liked it but Ian at Middlewich thought it was fluffy in comparrison to Gaz but Matt his mechanic thought it was great. There is a difference but its a personal thing.
We are doing some suspension clinics around the UK with the TVRCC and I can only suggest you blag a drive in cars equiped with the two brands and make your own mind up.

BTW I have now added Nitron to my brand list so I'm not biased either way.

I'm running Gaz Gold on my Corrado VR6 - they get everywhere, don't they?

It's a fairly custom setup as Gaz don't actually do a kit for the Corrado and I think I need stiffer springs on the front. So if you're reading, Derek (Gazman) then how about replying to the odd email?

They're very good though - so much adjustability. I had Koni top-adjustable dampers before and the difference between softest and firmest was barely noticeable, but with the Gaz the difference is massive - quite astonishingly so - which is great for different setups for road and track.

Any Idea how the GAZ Golds fair up against Nitrons??

If the GAZ are £800 fitted they are a bit cheaper than the Nitrons, I thnk they are about £1200 fitted.

How about the new Bilsteins? Does anyone have any input as to how they compare to the Gaz and/or Nitrons?
