Been waiting nearly 4 weeks to get my Tam back after a service and pod repair (under warranty).

Pod is still with a certain PH member being repaired.

Why is this taking so long?

Not one to moan but I'm getting a bit hacked off not being able to drive my baby.

Next time I think I'll just get the warranty boys to buy a new one and get it swapped over.

Don't think you can get a new one at the moment.

Let me know if you find a supplier.

Think there is a place in Preston, ex factory staff who are now repairing dash pods, try ringing Drivestyle, they had some over there for rrepair.

Slightly off subject and doesn't help you now, but I read a thread on the Tuscan forum that Clever Trevor apparently sell components for the Tuscan LCD screens, next day delivery and you plug the printed circuit boards in yourself, I am suprised they are not doing this for the T350 & Sags ?? anyone know anything on this ??

Oh god the dreaded pod debate.

Right...following exactly the same trouble with an outfit who shall not be mentioned, we are moving into the market. Ive already discussions with Peter Morgan at DM about it and we know who to work with our end. That is for just the repair side. There are indeed issues regarding the LCD screens and those going wrong, we are looking into that issue also.

In addition to all that, we are also looking at having *new* pods made up. Ive asked my business partner to have a chat with the original lasses and see if they are interested. When I have progress Ill report back.

This one is only partly with profit in mind, a lot of it is coming from having been in exactly the same situation, suffering the exact same frustration and knowing I could do a hell of a better job of managing the situation better than the current supplier.

Pissed off does not even begin to describe how I felt.

Go to www.bellhillgarage.co.uk, and order a second hand pod. £100, fitted in 15 minutes (description in FAQ). Sorted.

Sorry, can't get the link to work, but just type "Bell Hill Garage" into Google.

I did this thanks to Nubbin, I now have the old pod in the garage, so if anyone knows who can fix it I'd be interested.

Good to see there may be some choice next time my pod fails.

BTW - have a guess as to how much it costs to have one repaired.

Is that £350 and its sorted for good or just repaired to the same standard as before?

That's an interesting question.

As I understand it the problem is with the LCD panel which gets damaged easily possibly due to overheating causing warping (just speculating).

If the repair merely replaces the panel with another of the same spec then it is just as likely to pop as the one it replaced.

I don't know if the repair is guaranteed or if the warranty people would question a second replacement within, say, 6 months.

Hopefully I won't need to find out.

No - I changed mine myself, but I have had plenty of experience of TVR dealers and their "think of a number and treble it" billing policies!

Time for me to add to this thread.

My Tamora has had regular on/off moments with the LCD display (ie lines across or missing), but each time so far it has corrected itself. Only recently after a month with a bad display I suddenly get a perfect display again. I am beginning to wonder whether it is related to humidity, but then I am no expert. (fwiw the car is used daily).

It would be good to get a confirmed diagnosis of the problem, eg I often wonder about that circuit board that is 'lying around' behind the pod, and the fact that my problem seems intermittent whereas I would have thought (and I maybe wrong) that once an LCD is damaged it is permanent.

regards
