Oops! Damaged the Sag
Discussion
Well, I was driving along the motorway on Friday night in the driving rain at about 10pm when I hit a patch of water. Funnily enough, although I aquaplaned, I didn't lose it and the Sag kept it's butt in check.
HOWEVER! The next morning I was just wondering why there was a crowd of people staring at the back end of the Sag when the other half informs me of some bad news... the puddle I went through at 70mph has ripped off part of the underside and back of the car!! WHAT!? Not I have no idea how I managed not to notice when I got out of the car but I didn't and there is no other explanation! I didn't back it down a high curb at 50mph+ which is what it looks like when you see it!
I'll post pics up on the blog as soon as but in the meantime, it is back with David Gerald who I think are sick of the sight of my car.
Oh well

It's not always the front that catches on a sag, its the rear that takes the brunt! I've heard mine catch and scrap a few times. The last one was Sunday on the Wales run in the pouring rain, it looked like a dead pheasant in the road. Past the front no problem but a big thud as the rear caught it, no damage this time.
Hope yours gets sorted soon. Whose doing your paint job on the rear valance?

Well I generally take it to David Gerald, wait for a call and go pick it up!
I don't know who is doing it on this occasion.
Sorry for missing out on the Wales trip last week. We moved house and still have no internet at home so I couldn't let anyone know. Besides which, as mentioned, the car was a mess

Ha ha the amount of times it has been bumped since June 06 we have plenty of spare paint from them for touch ups and every spray job we have had done - 3 off the top of my head I think - where it has been three or more sections of the car have been spot on.
No complaints here!
Top job

You are not alone! Exactly the same thing happened to me just after I bought my Sagaris in 2005.
It had raining heavily and I hit a large pool of water in a dip on a country road. There was a bang as I hit the water but no immediately obvious damage in the darkeness so I kept on going. It was only when I stopped in a well lit area that I could see the rear undertray split in two. The force of the water had split it down the middle.
It took some time to get repaired - the TVR Centre - as the factory didn't have any spares so had to wait for one to be made - wonder how long that'd take now? Another story I guess.
Luckily there was no damage to the rest of the car so I ended up driving around for a couple of months with no undertray. No one noticed as far as I know.
On another subject I see the supply of used Sagaris's is drying up and the prices are hardening. The way I look at it is that whatever happens now the best handling and probably fastest TVR ever made in the UK (had 7) is going to be a collectors item.

Dont think used cars are drying up, the numbers for sale have always been low due to numbers sold and Cant quite see how you reckon prices are hardening, although im looking at the moment, those for sale have been for months and many have had to drop considerably in price too.
Not many for sale, but as someone said before not many sold to date, but then again theres certainly not many buyers either, its still very much a buyers market ive had one trader drop 6k in price in 3 months
Hi Tangoed, thanks for the heads up.
DG told me yesterday that I could collect on Wednesday from them. We shall see...
Told you it was bad! However, thanks to the guy who said it had happened to him too! I don't feel so clueless now. I sent his quote on here to DG and they said that it was possible afterall... I think they were doubting me and thinking - yeah right, you were doing 50mph backwards and hit a curb
Tangoed, we will have to meet up sometime and park them together for piccies! Gosh I am sad in my old age

I'm sure we'll catch meet up at some point and get some pic's. I must say that every time I reverse into a car park space or by bollards, I'm always worried about grounding the rear or hitting some object. She'll be as good as new soon.
I did notice your slats on the engines bay are different to mine. Your car looks like one of the aero slats are joined to the centre strut. Where as mine has a gap into the engine bay. Must of been a mod the factory did at some point, interesting though these little changes that some sags have.

I have a beautiful picture of your car in my lounge (The EVO Ltd edition picture) accompanied by a Muira just below it, looking a bit better than here though. Hope it gets sorted soon.
