I test drove my first sagaris today, and had been wondering how it would compare to my 55 plate T350.

My initial impressions were:-

Impressed with
1) Very easy to drive and very smooth
2) the ride is more compliant than the T350 when just cruising along
3) Steering feel is better, not as darty, if thats a word, as the T350.
4) IMO seats are much better too

Not so impressed with
1) Acceleration, it felt no quicker than my standard T350 which i was really surprised about, infact it may have even felt a little bit slower but i think this was down to the fact i didnt give it as many revs.
2) cant believe they dont use the aluminium indicator stalks ala the Tam and T350, just some crappy ford bin ones

The handling is the biggest difference T350/Sag. Different league, longer wishbones, wider track. and you are right-much less darty.

If its an early one then it may have the tall (wrong) diff. Quite a few did. My old Tuscan S could outdrag the first batch of dealer cars.

It was an 06 plate with 1600 miles so fairly new

The car has a nasty plastic indicator stalk because this is the new mod. I much prefer the Ali one, looks a whole lot better matching the other knobs and accessories.

Your right they did have the wrong diffs on the early models, but this is not one of them going by the spec on the car. she would perform better with a close ratio box on her.

Nick,

Don't change just for the sake of it man. Get some mods on your T350 before you swap models.

Or do you have money burning a hole in your pocket ?

Well, have fun test driving for a while - THEN stick with what you've got, get some mods and show the wife what a good boy you've been because you saved some money AND ended up with an improved car. Sorted

Nick,

Just swapped from a T350t to a saggy and the difference in handling is a major improvement, the steering seams to be more fluid. In terms of outright pace, the T350 seamed to rev easier, but the Saggy has more grunt and is easier to drive a low speed.

Do it, you won't regret it!!!

There is no linear and clear association of which time frame car got which diff.
Some of the earlie cars got the tall diff correct, over the production run though plenty of other cars get various diffs, there is no rule. The car you drove might also be using the wrong exhaust, it possibly got slid and is running the small bore system or even a right bodge job, a large bore system with restricted small bore cats (at least one ph Sagaris owners has had inflicted upon him). You dont know what diff you were running or the state of tune of the engine...with only 1600 miles on it, it will feel tight though, they do free up after about 6000 miles.

As to handling to be honest that is entirely subjective...all the Sagaris cars have different suspensions! In reality, very few cars are running the same set up despite what TVR said. There are even a few cars out there that dont even have the same make at each corner!

Just find a good individual car that you like, feels good and puts a smile on your face. Then buy it.

Nick,

No, it's from Drivestyle in Harrogate, it's Halcyon Midas,(one of only three in that colour so i am told?). The one at Fernhursts was Galio Fly, which if I am not mistaken is a Ferrari colour?

Think the bright colous and black interior suit the saggy.

Agree with that - the orange/black is pretty good, underwritten with anthracite wheels.

Couldnt agree more, was thinking of putting in a wanted ad if i cant find one i like.

And one of the must haves is anthracite alloys, i think it gives the car a much more purposeful / mean stance if you what i mean
