Just wondering how many Sag/t350/Tam owners have their cars off the road waiting for parts?

I realise that we are currently in a period of flux with the factory closing down and receivers sorting out assets but we're all going to be on big trouble if the parts dry up.

So, my Tamora has been sat in my indies garage for 5 weeks waiting for an instrument pod backlight.

Anyone else off the road at the moment, what for and for how long.

Why would you have your car of the road for 5 weeks for something so trivial??

Because the entire instrument pod and it's ecu were sent to TVR power in Coventry for repair.

It's hard to drive the car without any instruments.

Ring up the breakers and get one for £100, or start phoning everyone in the trade, you won't get anyone chasing on your behalf more than yourself...I have been there buddy if you wait for anyone else to sort it you'll be waiting a bloody log time, good luck mate

I thought it was a reasonable question and would have thought after 5 weeks any dealer or indie worth their salt would have the units back so the car was back and running. You could always rectify the minor fault when the part was available surely??

Waits for another smart ar@ed response.

Have you tried TVR Power? They bought all the parts from teh factory IIRC, so if anybody will have one, they will.

Emailed you a couple of days ago David to see if you could source one.

FFS it's a warranty repair so we're talking at least £350.

Anyone want some money for old rope?

Ive so been there m8 and it was the source of my minor rant on the subject a cpl of weeks ago and I believe Dom charged my about £300 for mine.

Until yesterday we fully intended going into the pod market ourselves we had the right ppl and the right contacts, however, we have subsequently found out highly disturbing things about *both* of our possible ppl...namely that they are both on Smolenski's payroll. One has recently accepted a job working for him in an IT/electronics capacity and one apparently has always been on St. Nic's payroll and wasnt on the TVR payroll per se. Needless to say 2 so called friendships rapidly disappeared down the tubes and they werent even *my* friendships, they were on my business partner's side. We dont forgive easily in Blackpool. Ive got another contact an electronics hardware friend of mine, used to work with me for the Company That Shall Not Be Named, and Ill chat to him about what he can do. He has oscilloscopes etc at home, so he is an angle worth pursuing...oh and he's good, as in my industry standard good, which means good is an understatement of several magnitudes...even if he has got crap taste in cars. Sorry about that.

Thanks - I appreciate your efforts.

Apparently the LCD and backlights are now being replaced with a new version which is less prone to failure - hence the delay.

Not too keen to get a breakers replacement as it will be the old type.
