went to go for a blat in my saggy but when turned the ignition on one of the fans came on, the car is cold and not been started so no reason for it to be on, any idea's please. Did'nt take it out in case it burnt the fan out, is this right?

is it the off side fan? (drivers side) if so it's an aircon fault (assuming you have air con).

Yep, its the aircon, think it's called a triple switch / valve. Easy to replace, but the air con has to be de gassed and re gassed to get the valve out, dealer job really, had exactly same problem with mine 2 weeks ago, fan on all time, sorted now.

The trinate switch is easily replaced - if you have 10 minutes spare that is all it takes, accessible inside engine bay at the front right. Have your dealer send one over to you.
Re-gassing the a/c will take about an hour, at most, at a garage with the right kit: shouldn't cost much more than £50, and a tenner or so for the switch.

Can you post a pic from inside the engine bay of the switch - I have had and have seen on others that the cable leading to/from is tied back with tie wraps, and has been seen to be too tight, effectively pulling on the connectors. There is also the possibility that the soldered joints under the rubber grommet have corroded. This can be checked by folding the grommet back up.
