Hi TVR owners,

I'm considering buying a black 2004 Tamora from Henley Heritage. I've been reading many past post on buying advice so my questions are more as follows:

Advice on Henley Heritage as a dealer, sales and service. Good/bad?
Comments on buying a TVR now with the current situation?
Parts and body panels, are they still available?
Anyone know the car or previous owner I think a Mr Mould from Great Missenden

Thanks
Chris

Can offer advice on Henley Heritage as i've recently bought from them myself and had some repairs / maintenance done ...

... found them to be excellent, very accommodating and helpful (which is comforting if any problems should arise), Richard - after sales - is extremely professional and knowledgeable and very thorough in identifying and rectifying any issues that might arise.

Despite having problems with my car soon after picking it up i've only got good things to say about them at the moment.

Richard is excellent for after sales/servicing - top man (very helpful and knowledgeable).

Richard and all the team at HH are excellent - nothing but praise for them.

Wish I'd bought my Tam there!

If this is the car

The price is high. I bought mine a year ago with far less miles! full leather also for 1.5K less than this inc. a 1 year wear/tear warranty. there is plenty of scope for bargaining here, haggle hard and they will drop the price.

Thanks guys,

I have "signed up" for the £27,950 price and I am currently discussing the deal, finance etc. Glad to here such positive comments. Steve Green (MD) of HH seems like a good guy. Just wanted to go into potential TVR ownership with my eyes open. I've been lucky with my past handbuilt cars (x2 Lotus Elise's and a Caterham). Reliabilty is been ok with only minor niggles. Saying that I had 2 actual breakdowns (lost coolant and throttle cable broke) so maybe not that good then. I've looked at Tuscan and Cerbera's in the past but every car I looked at had problems with trim coming off or something not working. This is the first TVR I've seen where everything seemed to work. Maybe I sound harsh but just my experience. Reading through the forum in general you TVR guys seem to really love your cars and help each other out which is great to see and a credit to you. I could be joining ??? Watch this space.

Cheers
Chris

I think you should get it for less than that. I bought my 2005 Tamora from a dealer a year ago when it was 1 yr old and had 2,500 miles on the clock for 31k. Good luck with the haggling!

Its always nice to get a good deal and both sides find common ground HH also have a living to make don't forget.Their not like some of the others who will take the shirt off your back as well as your money.Always remember if your satisfied then deal if not walk away.

I agree 100% with that, if you screw a dealer down too far on price it is likely to bite you somehow!

However, I do believe in haggling quite hard to avoid that aweful I've overpaid feeling!

I test drove the iced titanium Sag there & you could tell it was WELL sorted - one immaculate car. They may well be a bit pricey but from everything I gleaned while I was there it's my opinion that you will drive away in a superb (prob the best) example.

Thanks Guys. Deal done, Deposit is down so looking forward to having it end of next week (shame I miss Easter).

San008 - I was drooling over that Sagaris. I must say I was tempted. I stuck to my plan as I really wanted a roof down motor as I've had tin (& carbonfibre) top cars over the past few years. I've been missing the wind in my receding hair :-)

Look out for me in the moonraker black b*stard rolling on 18" anthracite alloys at the next TVR meet. You can probably tell I'm gagging

Cheers

I'm not too far from Henley. So keep an eye out for me.
Unfortunately I can't make Chatsworth as my bread knife is doing the London Marathon. I will be keen to go to future meets, runs etc. Is there another Pistonheads Virginia Waters meet decided yet? I faded into the background on the last one in my V10 M5.
