'Press Spec' Sagaris
Discussion

I've heard on the grapevine that some of the March 05 Sagaris which were dealer demos were fitted with a 'Press Spec' engine
Does anyone know what the differences are/were and how can you tell a 'press spec' car?

Jasper,
Get hold of the build sheet first - it will indicate press spec engine on the sheet if appropriate.
Hi Jasper, it sounds like a load of 'kidology' to me. The only thing out of the ordinary with our demos was that they were all delivered with the pdi carried out by the factory instead of us having to do that ourselves. Historically the actual press cars always had a slightly 'special' engine! Also they generally had a close ratio gearbox to help with the all-important 0-60 figure! Hope you find the right car.

Tony...the 4.3 Griffith you have up for sale, is it a genuine factory BV or a Power afterthought special? I mean one of the 4 or 40 or whatever number ppl reckon it is these days, done as part of the original build spec?
Hi David, it is one of the four original, factory produced cars with the paperwork to support from TVR. I know that a number of cars were converted post-build and also that quite a few of the original Griffs were 'standard' 4.3's as an extra when ordered new. The 'Big valve' bit is what makes this rare I understand.
I hope that this helps and give me a call if you need more detail.
Best regards, Tony
