Hi guys, why does my steering go heavy when i give the car some stick? its ok after i've pulled over, turned engine off. turn key and can hear the fuel pump prime and power steering pump when you push button on key fob. Dont understand no probs until i get the engine warm, oil about 80degrees. it cant be the 80 amp fuse or the relay because all ok in everyday motoring, just when i let rip and thats not that oftn!

perhaps a stress fracture on one of the fuses or perhaps the fuse board under the steering wheel?

it could be the green wire for the relay feed, this is next to the 80amp fuse on the loom in the battery box; the connector gets corroded and breaks down when hot just like the fuse does. undo it and clean the contact should do the trick. If not its always worth trying the relay thats off a pug 405 for about £12 (part numbers something like 9995VL)

hope that helps

I had a similar problem with my Tuscan2 S, found the relay was the problem.Although when checked off the car the relay was pulling in and the contact making, due to what I would call a manufacturing fault with the relay only about one third of the contact area was making.
