Just covered 4K miles since purchase at Christmas and I couldn't be happier.

Recently took the car across Europe and was very impressed but since the return have noticed a couple of noises that I don't believe were there before:

1) The instrument hub now appears to have a constant relatively high volume whirr/hum to it.

2) The engine does appear to be making a little more noise, but is still smooth as anything.

3) Once the ignition and everything is turned off there is a long lasting strange air noise.

The latter may be down to the fuel tank sucking air in from somewhere to re-balance as I think I stopped this noise yesterday by opening the tank. Not sure though.

Any ideas more than welcome.

there is a fan in the unit to cool it - may have some dirt in it or perhaps a bearing on its way out? - mine makes a noise to (can't hear it with the roof of though), I doubt it will blow up or anything but then again

.

is it a sigh perhaps
can't imagine it but perhaps the tank vent valve has something blocking it?

1) Almost certainly the cooling fan for the display. Almost certainly cheap as chips. You could get a quieter one for £1 but taking apart the dash will be a PITA. If you do try, please post photos.

2) Mine is getting steadily louder now she is run in. Or I am pushing the pedal further, not sure which

3) Dunno about that one. Mine doesn't.

Great toy though, eh ?

Thanks Chaps.

Re above: Photos of me kciking the crap out of the display 2 hours after starting to take apart you mean?

I suspected the additional noise might be down to a spot more effort now the roads are dryer.

Pretty sure the general gas noise isn't me but will check along with the valve.

Have a good evening everyone.

3. Yep, is the tank pressure venting. I get this as well. First few times I would open and close the petrol cap, which would stop it. Now I can't be bothered.

Just spent the last few days over Easter down in Cornwall visiting the 'in-laws' - roof off every day. Absolutely superb car. Got lots of attention from by-standers/other drivers/kids - all of good good kind.

Cheers.

Parked up with a full tank last night and no noise so that seems to confirm it as well.

Was looking forward to a great weekend out in the country but just been told I have to go overseas instead. Not too happy.

Always wondered what that was. I also get the same noise from the fuel tank.
