I’ve managed to ‘scratch’ the leather on my steering wheel when getting in and out of the car (I seem to have been inadvertently rubbing a rivet in my jeans against the bottom of the steering wheel) and am thinking about replacing it. There are so many to choose from, any suggestions?

MOMO do some good ones, and you can use the hub thats already fitted. It will need to be drilled though. Buy them from a shop or on ebay. Memo Trek or Trek R are a good range.

How do you mean drilled? I was thinking of one for the Sag

Drilled eh? Why is this? Aren't the bolts in the same possition? Do the switches at the back of the wheel sit ok behind aftermarket steering wheels?

How about a std one from a breakers yard? Shouldn't cost too much since new ones are not that much money. Easy fix for the damage.

True

I could live with the damage as well, it isn't that bad and only at the bottom of the wheel. The bolts holding the steering wheel on have gone rusty though and I need to find new ones (or I could try and paint the ones I have). I've seen a set of Momo steering wheel bolts on Demon Tweaks for not much money, anyone know if these will do the job?

I've also got a sticker on the steering wheel saying T350C but it is half peeling off and doesn't look very nice. It seems to be covering a hole. Is the sticker on later cars as well?

Sorry guys, the new steering wheel holes do not line up with the standard ones. You can either cut the small 4 wires that go to the wheel function buttons, and drill some new 6mm holes in the gold spacer, or drill in place. The centre hub that is fixed has got the holes pre-drilled for both types of steering wheel, its just the gold washer/spacer that sits between the hub and the wheel that needs to be drilled.

Nick, you can get new shiny bolts from Leven that do the job. Give them a call, you will be surprised, the price is not what they quote on their website!

No sticker on mine. It has TVR on the centre cap and 'Personal' (brand I guess) on it.

I think I'll stick with some new steering wheel screws for now! I'll give Leven a call in the morning, the TVRCC site seems to want £9.95 delivered for the screws. £4 seems to be a little expensive for postage.

The sticker I was on about is on the bottom spoke of the steering wheel near the bottom. I think it just says T350c. Would be nice to stick a laminated small T350c badge on there if there is such a thing rather than the cheap sticker that is on it at the moment where the black background is going white.

Very impressed with Leven so far. Very friendly woman on the phone and I was indeed surprised by the price! She is sending me a set today. The screws should neaten up my steering wheel as rusty screws just look nasty! I'll save my money with the steering wheel for now.

Looking at photos I've seen some slightly nicer standard steering wheels which have a perferated grip part of the wheel, I think they have a yellow crown logo where I have mentioned I have a small T350C sticker, I wonder if I could get one of these from a breakers?

Sounds like my wheel with the yellow logo - I didn't realise there were several standard factory fitted types.

I've found out that the reason I have these holes in the bottom spoke of the steering wheel is because it is the same steering wheel used in the Griff which had a nice badge on the steering wheel in this location. They seem to have just gone for a cheap sticker on the T350C I've seen some nicer steering wheels even on older cars so maybe TVR just used what ever they had in the factory at the time...

Er Nick...this shocks you? Standard TVR policy of using whatever was to hand to get the car out of the door!

LOL, no I'm not suprised. I would like a nice T350 badge to go in the space though

Fitted the new bolts from Leven this weekend, they look much better than the rusty old ones. I even got an allen key with the bolts from Leven. Really impressed with them!

Still tempted by that one as it looks good in Dom's (TVR Power) Sagaris
