Had the brake fluid warning light come on under heavy braking when pointing downhill.

Going to sling a bit of juice in the resevoir this evening.

If anyone is willing to waste a moment of their time to save me a moment of mine: Is the tank going to be located in a typically awkward place?

I.e should I being borrowing someone from Cirque Soleil?

yes its akward, i topped mine up last week, its tricky to get anything other than a very small bottle over the pedal box without spilling, only takes 2 minutes though.

Dear sweet Jesus. Why do I find myself not looking forward to this I'm well over 6 foot and poorly co-ordinated at the best of times.

I'm guessing that I would do well to decant the fluid into a smaller vessel than the 1L bottle.

Good job brake fluid is pleasant stuff to work with.

Got a four year old around?? small hands are great for these jobs! Well they work well for people who own sweat shops. Maybe TVR centres have them too for such jobs...

While you're doing it take a peek under the car & look at the bellhousing for any signs of dripping fluid. Low fluid level in the brake/clutch reservoir (it supplies both) can be a sign that the cluth slave cylinder seals have gone.

Thanks.

This has given me another thought: Gearbox doesn't like to go from 3rd to 5th anymore at high revs. Possibly linked to low fluid?

Doubt it.

5th gear synchro is a notorious weak point of the gearbox.......

Any more doom & gloom I can help you with?

Be careful - and I'm not just being silly about this.
I share your build / level of co-ordination and had to fork out for several weeks of physio after trying to re-affix the small panel to the right of the pedal box. Mind you, it was probably still cheaper than paying TVR labour rates...!

Thanks for the info. I guess I will soon find out if it is covered under the wear and tear element of the indy warranty.

Thanks for the heads up. I may well leave this to the chappies at the garage as my lazyness knows no bounds at present. At least their labour rates will be lower than Jaguar and you get to deal with people who smile and genuinely want to help and don't leave your car in a complete mess of grease and dust.
